happy to be fit enough to join my first running challenge.
goal is to build up to running outdoors by spring.
will do 100+ km in feb.
feb 1. 5km
feb 2. 5km
feb 3. 4km

Yeah for the foam roller!!! That's excellent to hear!! I have one somewhere too...a good reminder to find it and put it to good use!!

My favorite running weather is when it's just cold enough to want gloves, but still warm enough to wear shorts and a short sleeved shirt. Today was perfect.

Bloomsday is Sunday, May 3rd. I'll be doing weekday runs as soon as there is daylight enough for them. I do have a HR monitor & kept it between 158 - 164 on that last run. What should I be aiming for? I will try intervals once for now once a week, thanks for the suggestion! How long should I have my intervals for starters?@Wendy1Fl - When is the race? There are many training plans available online to try but you might just try running some intervals, or running some part(s) of a regular run a bit faster than you normally run. Use your watch or a HR monitor to measure how you are doing. But only do this with one of your weekend runs... if you can run more often you could try it 2x/week.

@ddmom0811 I have been going to the PT for an injury and when I told him it hurts on the outside of my knee down towards my outer calf he told me that is from weak hip muscles and has me doing exercises to strengthen my hip.0
