@skippygirlsmom It was in fact noticeably warmer than it has been the past few days...lol... but they are promising more single digits and sub-zero windchills the next couple of days, followed by a weekend of freezing rain. And I wonder why I'm fighting to get miles. This "no-treadmill" vow I took is a bit more challenging than I had hoped... :)

I figured it felt much warmer. Here in Northern Alabama are expecting 7F (-6F) at the normal time I run in the morning tomorrow. The worst thing about the temps like that is we have electric heat pumps. They do NOT keep up with the need. My HVAC hasn't shut off in day$$$. Like you I do my best to keep off the dreadmill, I was using it when I first started back after PT, but I'd rather be chilly than deal with that.

@jorocka I agree on the tread mill 100%

Chiming in- I've been trying to run 2x a week. I've almost succeeded ;)

Happy to participate even as a minimal runner!!! Just needing some extra cardio- and getting out in the crisp air is preferred to the stale tread mill air.
It's ok... you're still a first-class bad-*kitten*. And you also get points in my book for eschewing the mill.

    LOL I know right?

    And thank you!

I mean I've logged my fair share on the deadmill- but I just MUCH prefer the air.
And hysterically- for a "none running" runner.. I chose some mighty odd times to get myself running (Sunday was sub 20* and I went hill running dafuk?!?!?!)

I'll take it- something > nothing. And that's all my cardio/run goals are... 2 sessions on none lifting days. :D

@HonuNui‌ - what kind of camera do you use for your underwater shots? They are so clear!
@Daisy471‌ - Awesome job on your 5K and good thinking to drop down from the 10K with that weather! I love the name if the race - so fitting!
@skippygirlsmom‌ - loved your pictures and the one about cold weather runners says what I feel about all of you out and running in that cold cold weather!

Thanks for the comments about my pup - he is a goofball but gets me out there!

I don't have much need to ever use a treadmill unless I am traveling for work. I do have a lot of respect for those of you who can run on them and get it done day in and day out like @cooter_mom‌ and @johnsonnelly‌!

Well, my miles are coming along.

I have thought about having my gait analyzed. So if anyone can offer any information on that, I'd be appreciative.

There a HM the end of march I'd like to make. But I don't think I'm logging enough miles. Feedback welcome. Currently 8-10 miles a week, slowly building. I have chronic back pain so I'm reluctant to push to hard. There is a HM in October I'd like to make. I can always do the quarter marathon if my back gets in the way of training. I'm open to much guidance

I'm not sure if 8-10 miles a week will have you ready for a HM by the end of March, unless you can get at least one 10 mile run in sometime the next two or three weeks. You could probably push yourself to finish but it might not be a very pleasant experience, especially with a bad back. You might want to start increasing your weekly miles by 10% per week for a while. That will give you a slow steady build that should not aggravate your back. In my opinion (and there a lots and lots are far better runners here than me, so you might want to listen to them), you would do much better at a HM after you have built up to a steady base of 20-25 miles per week. Then you would slay it.
