Nothing better than an unexpected improvement.

Nothing worse than realizing your undies are now a size or so too large on such run..

Tomorrow- new undies made for running.
    - I love progress.

I remember quite clearly the day I learned why running tights need to be tight.

Love this! And yes I laughed out loud as well. :) I can definitely relate. I am planning on rocking a pair of running shorts tomorrow that up until now I have been too self conscious to wear as they are bit on the skimpy side.

Fabnine - you always have such great words of encouragement and motivation. Way to be awesome!

Just want to add my appreciation for all of you and the running club that we have formed on these monthly challenges. The positivity, support and information exchanges are so amazing/helpful/valuable (I could go on and on); it really makes me feel honored to call myself a runner! So thank you to all of you - each of your posts is an inspiration and I love seeing everyone make progress towards your goal whatever it is! And I am building quite the library of running resources thanks to all the links/resources you have shared!

@stoshew71 - Thank you so much for starting the challenges and keeping them (and us!) going!
@elise4270 - Congrats on the NSV! Too funny! I've been there too!
@fabnine - Love your encouragement; you have a gift for writing, thank you for sharing it with us! And since your my running hero for facing our snow and ice covered roads day after day - please, please, please be careful this weekend! Sorry to go all mother hen on you!
@skippygirlsmom - I wait with bated breath to hear what you find out about chronically tight hammies...

And I'm sharing a quote that I find helps me on days that I'm frustrated because I'm not running far enough, fast enough, some one flies by me on the running trail on my speed work day - Comparison is the thief of joy. ~Teddy Roosevelt. It helps to remind me to focus on and appreciate on what I am doing at this moment.

And with that, I think I'll go fire up the treadmill (sigh, yes again, it's -16 below here and I just don't have the gear to manage those temperatures).

    Happy running!! :D

I may be out for a bit. A mild pain/tenderness appeared on my left foot at about mile 6 on my planned 12 mile run. Tried to keep going in case it was just my mind playing tricks. Stopped around the 10k point because it was not going away.

I have a series of 3 hslf marathons 2 months from now. So frustrated.

It feels like the same thing that hit my right foot that sidelined me for all of December.Hopefully I can just keep going though.

I cant help but wonder if my recent work on form and cadence contributed.

    Good luck everyone!

I am pretty proud of myself. Usually by this time, I'm frustrated with my progress and quit. But everyday I get off the treadmill and I am blown away with what I just accomplished, and I can't wait to do it again tomorrow!! Three weeks ago, I had a hard time running for 3-5 minutes at 3mph. Yesterday and today, I was running between 3.5 and 4 mph for almost an entire 50 minutes!!! A few short breaks in there, but right back to running when I caught my breath. Yay me!!! And in the few shorts weeks, I've noticed changes in my body. THIS IS MY YEAR! I got this!! Thank you for this challenge. And thank you to all of you on here, you are all a great inspiration!!!!
