Awesome deadlifts @quiksylver296 !
I confess that unless it's something I don't have to chew, I make a ton of noise chewing anything. I've tried my best to quiet down but it's easier for me to just abstain from eating.

No judgement, but YIKES. My wedding heels were less than half of that and I STILL nearly killed myself... I would break my neck with the first step!
Editing to add: I also hate heels. And make up. I'm probably the furthest thing from a girly-girl anyone could ever meet. Did anyone here know that?
I might have guessed. I am totally a girly girl and a Tom Boy.
Today was a pretty big win overall! In case anyone is wondering, the sticky notes say:
- What do you want more: To eat that bread, or your HEALTH and HAPPINESS? <-- Posted in my most common secret-eating spot.
- You can do this! <-- On the refrigerator.
- Stairs are FUN! *drawing of stairs* <-- Next to the front door.
- Every meal can either bring you closer to your goal or take it further away. <-- In front of my dining chair, on the wall where I can see it as I'm eating.
- Are those extra calories worth the EXTRA GUILT? <-- On the kitchen entrance.
- Getting closer every day! <-- On a kitchen cabinet
- Every kilo lost brings you closer to a FITBIT! <-- In front of my scale
And, just for fun: "Your wife is SUPER GREAT! *drawing of shark*" <-- On my husband's computer screen.
So much awesome!0 -
@peleroja everyone on here agrees that you look super great in the pink one. With that in mind I think you need to find the mirror that you were looking in when you decided you looked bad and throw it away. It is a lying liar and deserves to be tossed into the trash for its behavior.

My sister (as I have briefly mentioned before) is a mess... she is at this point basically a homeless criminal who goes around getting into trouble. Anyway, today I got a call from the Idaho prosecutor's office. They said I had a subpoena to appear in court next week. I was very confused when they told me I was being called as a witness to a crime at a casino, since I haven't been to a casino in over 10 years. Turns out my sister was the witness - all her friends got arrested, and because she has warrants up the yang, she used my name and gave my mom's phone number. Now I'm worried that this wasn't the first time. I can't believe her nerve.
This is terrible. You need to make sure nothing is appearing in you personal records.
I'm planning on calling their police tomorrow and making sure they know what she did and seeing if I need to do anything else. I'm pretty sure that is a crime. Another to add to her list.
Isn't that identity theft of a sort? Wow.0 -

I'm usually around 60g of protein (24 of which is a protein shake). What's your best veggie protein advice?
I'm not vegetarian either but I eat weird. If I was to identify as anything, it would be pescetarian, so I eat a LOT of fish, cheese and eggs. I supplement with a protein shake daily and usually throw in a Greek yogurt snack somewhere along the way. I love black beans and kidney beans, but there's only so much chili a gal can eat.
As far as poultry and mammals go, I won't eat anything that reminds me of what it used to be when it was alive (this is the weird part, totally psychological). So small pieces of meat, like in soup or fried rice or stirfry things, will generally escape my attention and go down okay. Pork has been a no-go for me from a very young age, I can't deal with the texture. A dish made with ground beef is usually fine... the more processed and un-meat-like the meat is the better. However, I can't handle the stuff myself in meal prep or cooking it and then stomach eating it, so beef and chicken only work if the SO cooks them or in a restaurant meal. For this reason, I tend to do better with protein when the SO is home and doing the cooking... on my own, I'm very lucky if I hit my 90 gram daily goal. Fortunately, I don't get bored eating the same or similar meals day after day, as I'm not a happy or creative cook.
Thanks, @ythannah. I think I need to investigate my Greek yogurt. I eat yogurt and granola for most breakfasts, but my brand has much lower protein counts than what is generally advertised for Greek yogurt - maybe that swap will help me get to the 80 grams I'm supposed to be hitting.
I find the eggs, cheese, yogurt etc aren't exactly terrific protein sources in normal quantities... the fish is better.
Should have specified that I also eat seafood, and the absolute best source of protein is definitely shrimp!0 -
Just stopping in on the way to my stationary bike to update on my daily goals:
- Laundry (DONE. Except ironing. I HATE IRONING. Tomorrow's goal? )
- Housework (DONE. Yay for shiny house!)
- 30-60 minutes of exercise (On my way! Planning for 65 minutes/300 calories.)
- Climb the stairs (Done! 18 flights--9 down, 9 up.)
- Take a walk (Done! Roughly 1.5 kilometers walked.)
- Try to meet my calorie goal (Err... Still working on that one. 1000 calories to go? *sheepish grin*)
- Drink 2 liters/~8 cups of water (Getting there. 5 cups/1.25 liters done so far.)
I'm doing pretty well today.0 -

Not to mention the tastiest... Mmmm. Once I just tossed some shrimp with a bit of butter and salt and ate it with a fork. SO GOOD. And I don't even care that they look like insects.
Editing to add... Or should I say larvae?0 -
@Italian_Buju Enjoy the visit with your sister. So weird, I was at my parents over Father's Day weekend and mom was telling me that they're talking among the sisters now that my grandmother died (she's the one that moved away with youngest daughter and ignored the other kids). Apparently, she told mom's older sister that my mom couldn't stand her because she's poor. and she told be youngest that none of her brothers and sisters liked her because she was so much younger and they thought she was the favorite. Why would a mother try to come between siblings like that? I think she was a narcissist and wanted everything to go through her.
Eta: so sweet of your friend!0 -
Shrimp are as close to insects as you can get but they are very delicious! I just wish they weren't so expensive.0

I am going to my mom's in Long Island and getting 2 long rides in to Montauk on my bike and at least one swim. My sister and her husband are visiting from Seattle too. I may cook Saturday if I can fit it in. Back at barn to work Sunday. Anyone have any fun things planned?
Undecided. We are running a 10k on Saturday. The rest depends on whether my daughter makes it down or not.0 -

LOVE Montauk. My friends and I used to go all the time; just drive out for the day so we could eat lobster rolls and walk around.
I thought this earlier but wanted to comment on it. Every time I see the word Montauk I always think of that Montauk monster picture that went around years ago (that weird thing they found dead on the beach).
Me too!0 -
Leaving for the day. If I don't get a chance to check in over the weekend; I hope you all have a fabulous 4th!
@FroggyBug - Happy Birthday (a couple days early)!!!!

We're inching closer to adopting a dog. They're calling my references now and if all goes ok, then mid July they will be bringing her up for a meet n greet with my kids/us. I'm very happy about this, DH is on board but still a bit of a Negative Nancy about it. He did admit that he was being unfair to me about it. Everyone here knows I will be doing 95% of the work for the dog. If I'm ok with it then it's not an issue.
I also had another woosh yesterday, so now I'm 6.4 lb from goal (Tubbs, I'm comin for ya! ) This is my pattern though- huge wooshes for like 10 days, stuck for 10 days, gain a bit for 10 days, repeat. Overall I'm still losing at a decent clip, so I'll take it.
Bought some pants online and a new blazer for work. I went from a 14 in blazers (I have a giant chest) to a 10, and from 12 in work pants to a 6/8 depending on style. Hoping to end up back in a 4/6 for pants, because I have a bunch in my closet from back in the day *cough*4yearsago*cough* that I'd love to wear.
Another dental appointment tonight for 3 fillings (*grrrr*). I have to take half a Xanax before I go bc I get panicky. I've had so much work done and the anesthetic ALWAYS wears off halfway through, so every time I go in it's painful. The dentist last time said he gave me enough for a 300 lb man and couldn't give me any more. It lasted 60 mins then wore off
Yay!! For the dog and the whoosh!
Good luck at the dentist!0 -

Last night my husband and I went to the gym. It was deadlift day for me and I had told him that I managed to knock out 225 pound deadlifts on my last deadlift day. So, I load up my deadlifts with 225 pounds and I notice that my husband is intently watching me. I knocked out my 225 pounds, five reps, totally nailed it. And my awesome husband literally gave me a standing ovation, in the middle of the gym! It seriously brought tears to my eyes. I him!
AMAZING! What a great story!0 -
@ythannah Go girl!! Yay! For the compliment.
@Lois_1989 I lose better when I'm low carb. It helps keep my overall energy level high, but it's not conducive to speed in my running. Everybody is different and loses differently.0 -

Confession: I got myself some cheesecake after I made myself go to the urgent care on Monday. I forgot to tell you guys! I got the one with cherries on it because of this thread.0 -

Thanks for the birthday wishes guys. No one other than family usually remembers my birthday because of the holiday it's on (they are planning their own celebrations-which I totally understand).
I hope you guys all have a good 4th (no matter where you live).
We get to leave at 3 today. YayAngryViking1970 wrote: »pofoster21 wrote: »For those in the US and the Brits celebrating the 4th along with us what are your weekend plans?

Thanks! And seriously I know that kids are funny...but I could never imagine that a 3 year old could be as sarcastic, creative, and hilarious as he is! Cracks me up all day, every day. He's my best little bud! I'm dreading this fall when he starts pre school...I'll be lost without my sidekick!
Edited because HE'S starting pre school, not ME. Where's the coffee?

Sweet!! I need a squat rack as don't have one and have reached the level, I need help putting the weight on my back. So he has to help me or I get my 17 yo son to do it. Not up to 225 for DL yet but on my way. Very impressive!! And your husband is super great!0 -

Yep I forward then all to my e-mail. This has been going on for nearly 3 years now and to be honest it gets very tiresome. For the most part I have learned to ignore it and not fan the flames but some days it is really really tough. He has been diagnosed with depression and as being bi-polar so I try to cut him some slack but I just wonder if I am going to have to live with this for the rest of my life. That thought makes me want to just sit down and cry!
I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. My kids' father was a real piece of work. When my kids were 6 and 7, he stopped bothering at all. Haven't seen or heard from him since (about 15 years). Best thing he ever did for me and for them.0 -
Omg. @Italian_Buju That is unconscionable. I have no words. You are such a strong person to have come out on the other side of that as well as you have. Hugs to you!0

Yay!! I caught up!
Happy early birthday, @FroggyBug
Nashville is reportedly having the biggest fireworks show IN THE COUNTRY this year, so I shall go check it out.
Colonoscopy was this morning. All clear! Woot!
And, the prep left me -5.4 lbs this morning. Wish it would stick!0 -
It's getting closer to time to leave for the weekend. I hope I can at least log in, but probably no chance of keeping up. Spending the weekend at the beach and weather looks good!! I have my sun screen, bug spray and some portable shade so I am ready.0
