No . . . Valentine's Day has never been a huge deal for me, attached or single.

I hate all of the "Hallmark Holidays". And my GF would say that everyday with me is Valentine's Day anyway. I do, however, think that the new-ish holiday on March 14th is a keeper!

    ??? what am I missing?

    Steak and BJ Day.

I think it should only matter to those who have a special someone. If the holiday itself makes you sad, you should probably find a special someone for yourself! personally, after coming out of a long-term relationship last year, I'm enjoying being single. There is more to life than relationships (in my opinion).. though, Valentines day is cute and I like the time of year.

It's pretty much the most stupid holiday ever...I'm glad my wife agrees. It's a bunch of marketing bull *kitten*.

I pamper my wife often...I get her flowers on a regular basis...I prepare nice meals and we go out on occasion. I don't need some random day in February that Hallmark decided on to do these things.

You're not missing anything...don't be sad. It's *kitten* lame.

I feel like it should be more for the kids than adults now. It's fun going to their V-Day parties, exchange cards, and eat some sweet treats. Everything else about the holiday can die off as far as I'm concerned.

do you get sad when you see holidays on your calendar for other countries or religions? Don't let it bug you. Married 14 years here and we do celebrate it, this year hubby is getting another motorcycle and I'm getting a new bike rack that can hold 5 bikes. We usually use it as an excuse to splurge on things we've been wanting, no flowers or cards here - those are better gifts when unexpected.

Yeah I get that, but it's sad because I'm NEVER been in a relationship. :( I'm always alone on V-day...*sigh*

Since I'm probably getting divorced, yes, right now I do not like Valentine's Day one bit.

Hell no! It's just another day (I've been a single mom since my daughter was an infant - she's 13 now). This year I'll be seeing OTEP on 2-14, so it's gonna be an AWESOME night!

For the record, if I'm in a relationship I'd rather get a card or flowers on a non-Hallmark day for no other reason but just because. If you realllly want to get on my good side....take me bowling & buy me pizza & beer.

Annoying a little bit, but I would hate the consumerism nevertheless. It's stupid but it targets the majority, what can you do. What people want is what people get.

I feel you. But.. as cliché as it is to hear, there is somebody for everybody if they seek it. You'll find someone special eventually. ^_^

I buy myself an awesome present every year, regardless of if I'm with someone or not, so for me it's not depressing at all :p

People who play into these fake holidays are sad creatures.

The holiday is supposed to be about love, regardless of whether you're in a relationship. Love for your family, love for children, love for your peers, etc. It's just unfortunate that commercialism (as usual) has made it out to be something only lovers can participate in.

Valentine's Day is a nice day to do something with someone that you care for - doesn't have to be a significant other. My daughter and I have had Valentine's Dates in the past - she'll be three this year for Valentine's Day. I have never received flowers on Valentine's Day. Wait, I lied. When I was in 5th Grade I did. My motto for Valentine's Day??...

"Screw Valentine's Day. I'm just waiting for the discounted chocolate on the 15th"

This year I will most likely do my typical Saturday night activity. Line dancing :)
