Definitely! One of the best animal stories I heard not too long ago involved a bat, a cat, a school-aged boy, a broom, a sleepless night, and a rabies booster.
Eta: I’m partial to the stories where the teller imputes human motives and emotions to the animals. Like, “That fox stared at me a long time trying to get me to sing.”2 -
