My wife and daughter are planning on going together. They both read the books.

Not a movie I want to see, but if my wife wants me to humiliate her, dominate her and control her afterwards, I guess I'll have to man up.

All you ladies go and learn how to get pulled around by your hair and smacked when your man wants something. Assaulting your woman has never been more mainstream.

I really should be using a riding crop and wrist cuffs more often.

*kitten* that. Reason I don't like it. No man should treat a women like that. Ever. If my man did that to me I'd punch him in the dick.

I bet you suck in bed.... except the punching part. That saved you, really.

Hubby, my shock jock, has been teasing me about seeing this movie. But I'm the reader, not him, and I've read all the reviews (of the book). He has NO IDEA what this movie is about and I about guarantee he would blush to his cockles if he knew.

Actually I'm pretty awesome in bed. Just because I don't think a man should treat a women like *kitten* doesn't mean I suck in bed. Yea lets let our men define us and tell us how to look and what to eat. No thanks.

Agreed. Sad it's considered a "romance".

the books were bad enough, why would i pay $20 to go see it played by actors who (by all accounts) had no on or off screen chemistry?

@sweetdixie92‌ yea, it's really sad its considered a romance. I don't find it romantic at all.

I read a couple of excerpts from the books out of sheer curiosity, the writing was so utterly terrible I'm glad I spent less than 3 minutes of my time on it. You couldn't drag nor pay me to go see the film.

I hated the books. The plot sucked. The sex got boring after the first couple of times. The dialogue was awful, particularly the main character's inner dialogue. The characters weren't even likable. Taking a pass.

BDSM has NOTHING to do with abuse and both parties fully ENJOY it, and safety measures (ie a safety word or action) are in place to stop the activities immediately if someone has had enough.

That's fine. But a man shouldn't control who the women is.

So I completely agree with you HOWEVER some women actually like it when a man does that. If it was me.. i'd be leaving pronto.... some other woman would have wet panties ha

Lol love where you are coming from!
  • I read a small bit of the first book then skipped ahead to read some of the later chapters & I just couldn't continue. It was so "cheesy". I'd be just embarrassed to go see it, I don't like the actors, the plot is beyond boring (my sister read it and told me what happened). I honestly don't see the hype. The author obviously had a fantastic agent and they both will make millions from certain brands that will pay for the movie to endorse them. BUT I did buy the soundtrack on iTunes because it is fantastic, I am curious to see the styling in the movie as I bet it's fantastic. Hope all the ladies that do like 50 shades enjoy it.

lol right? everyone has their kinks.

i haven't read the books, but have heard it greatly criticized by the BDSM crowd, so it makes me very skeptical of them (the books). I'm not going to see the movie in the theater, maybe if it makes it streaming on netflix i'll give it a view.

Personally, the rough stuff stops at the bedroom door. But for some people that like this kind of play, the dom controlling some habits/clothing of the sub is foreplay. Consider it the dom sending flowers.

That being said, the books were horribly written. I couldn't get past the first one and even that was difficult. I've been suckered into going to the movie so I'm hoping it isn't completely awful.
