So I've heard a lot of different views on fifty shades of gray , some people think its retarded, others find it amazing. What are your guys and girls views?

Based upon your use of the word "retarded" in this instance, I am sure the books are right in your wheelhouse.

For the hundredth time....I was referencing a post someone made on Facebook -_-

But how does that make it right? Surely you have a filter of your own.

If you had read any of NY posts you would have seen I apologized and said I should have used a different term.

Everyone is WAY too PC these days.

Agreed. How many posts *do* we need calling out OP for use of the word "retarded"?

I'd rather watch porn with my husband (and have it lead somewhere) than watch soft-core drivel with a crowded theater of women.

I didn't read the books, but I read the excerpt where he pulls the tampon out of her himself and starts going at it. That was enough to turn me off.

Really?! I have not read any of the books, but that just turned me off too. Ugh...

I mean, I get it. You're allowed to be offended.

And I'm allowed not to care. <3

It doesn't matter if it's the millionth time, some people just like to argue.

A lot of girls fantasize about being dominated by a rich, powerful, attractive man.

    1. The books were written like bad fanfiction because they WERE bad fanfiction. It was a painful read.
    2. The storyline is an embarrassment on the BDSM community and it's sad that some people are going to think that's what actually happens in these type of relationships. Not the case.
    3. The actors playing Anastasia and Christian aren't nearly as attractive as they were made out to be in the book, so there's that.
    4. If that girl bit her lip or talked about her inner goddess one more time, I probably would've gouged my eyes.
    5. I disliked every single character in the book, especially Anastasia. She was just plain annoying and childish. Nothing sexy about that.
    6. I won't be spending my hard-earned cash to watch this in theaters. I may watch it for free on Netflix in a few months, but I'm not expecting much. I can get hotter erotica for free online.

On the other hand, all of these people (especially here in the south) protesting this film because of the "sexual abuse" and "immoral content" just piss me off. Get over it, people. There are much more damaging things out there. Fifty Shades isn't going to scar anyone for life.

Yes, I agree. I like this kind of reasonable response.

Book was very poorly written. I won't see the movie.
I totally agree with jjblogs...and my 2 cents is...Anne Rice's Beauty books are a thousand times better written and sexier!

I have heard a lot of people saying this about the Anne Rice Beauty books. What are they like? Do they have something in them like erotic bondage, submission, discipline, or something (like erotic breath control). I will check it out.

I heard a woman say Magic Mike was way better than Fifty Shades of Grey. That speaks volumes...

Not really a fan, though I haven't read the book. I'm really cringey with lovey dovey stuff though (I still block my eyes when people kiss on TV :s ).

My wife won't watch the movie. She read the first book and thought it was like watching a train wreck. She said many parts of it made her angry. But I do recall some parts made her frisky! To each his own.

Yep. Go with Anne Rice Beauty books. Lots of variety there. FYI she writes that series under the name A. N. Roquelaure.
