Lets go! Just drive to a state park and just hit the trails.0 -
Went snowshoeing in Rocky Mountain Park last weekend and took these photos. It was an incredible weekend for weather, high 50's to low 60's even at 10-11,000 feet. At one point we were down to shorts and t-shirts in waist deep snow.

Definitely bookmarking this thread. I don't go on enough hikes (the weather in Houston always seems too hot or too rainy). But this year we're scheduling our vacation around hiking!
Argh. I have a ton, but trying to figure out how to link to flickr. Will update later.0 -

Noelv1976, I do have quite a few more photos. Many of them are on my blog, which I posted a link to on page one (don't want to post it again for fear of being a spammer). As I get more I'll be sure to post in this thread.
standenvernet, it's funny you mention that. My wife didn't put sunscreen under her nose and is now peeling in that spot. Poor thing... I couldn't help but laugh at her though.0 -
A picture from Memorial Park
A really crappy picture from a park I can frequent more often. I wanted to try to snap a closer picture but it flew off after I took a single step.0 -
Here's some from my trail runs.

Yesterday I hiked to the Wetlands Observation Deck. Today my friend and I made the trip around the Wetlands you see in this image, against my better judgement because that's where the snakes live. Total time today 2.5 hrs. Good walk and a good talk with a good friend. It doesn't get any better than that.0 -

I was hiking in Iowa on Sunday and took a selfie with this tree that has a large burl on it.

Oh, and I guess I should do my typical haunt. This is the park a mile from my house. Sadly, they are "bringing the Texas back" and ripping out a majority of the trees because they aren't native (and not drought resistant).

Pics on today's peak attempt. 12,000ft, 22mi, 4800ft vertical. Wasn't able to cross the avalanche chute were the switchbacks start. Snow was too deep. Icy.
I had shorts on too. I stopped right at the chute then walked back and started snappin pics. Trees looked awesome with the rime ice! Unexpected Frigid wind.
Sry for huge pics. Right click, view image. Can see it way better.
