Tomorrow will be a rest day... wow, looks like I haven't had one since the 13th, oops.
My spring break starts Friday after school and we are driving up to VA to visit family. So not sure how my running will go until I get back on the 1st, but I hit my goal! Guess I am going to up it next month!
@elise4270 - no way am I clicking that link!
I'm horrified reading about the toe nails! My running store always puts me in shoes 1/2 size too big so hopefully it won't happen to me. If it does, I'll deal. What really worries me (yeah, it's silly) is what shoes would I wear. I wear open-toed shoes/heels/sandals all the time because it's hot here - beginning a couple weeks ago. I'd gross out my students. Then again, I teach mostly boys, so maybe they wouldn't care.
Is it me or does March feel really long? We still have 5 more days. Probably because I'm waiting for spring break.0 -
I have 14 miles and 6 days left ... 4 of those days are in Las Vegas. This may have been poor planning ...
Congrats to all of you reaching and exceeding your goals this week!!0 -

I haven't lost a toenail yet, but the end of one of my toes has a black and blue bubble... ew. I'm hoping it's not really noticeable to anyone but myself because I am wearing sandals at school today!
Sort of frustrated with myself. I'm pretty sure I can still hit my monthly goal, but I haven't been living up to my training schedule lately. For example, this week I was supposed to run 5, 3, 5, and then my long run, and instead I did 4.67, 3.37, 3.4. I just let life/excuses get in the way. I have to run with the stroller a lot because I get out of work several hours earlier than my husband and have my two-year-old with me. I don't know if it's mental or what, but it feels SO much harder to run with the stroller, and it's hard to have a "good" run/get in the zone when I'm doing it. My long run was supposed to be 9 miles this week, and I ended up doing 7 because I was hosting a bridal shower that afternoon and just didn't have time to fit it all in. I'm supposed to do ten tomorrow... no excuses!
Does anyone else here jog with a stroller? I am jogging with a City Mini, which isn't even a jogging stroller, and I'm wondering if it's worth it to invest in a nice jogging stroller. How much of a difference does it really make? My son is pretty big (maybe 35 lbs at almost 2 years old?) Pushing him up hills, even slight ones, feels like pure torture! On the flip side, within the next 12-18 months I will probably have a second baby, so I'm wondering if it's even worth it to drop big bucks on a nice stroller when I'll just need a double stroller (ughhh!!!!) before too long.

I'm planning to rest today, 10-miler tomorrow... I'll be out of town Saturday/Sunday, but supposed to do 5 on Monday which will put me RIGHT at my goal seriously just SQUEAKING in on the last day of March. So I better avoid my normal excuses!0 -

@shanaber Im in new shoes, mostly. I've been alternating to work different/rest muscles and find the right shoe, although I have been running more in my older ones.. I have plenty of room my toe box. Think I'll stick to the new ones
I'm going to try the ice. I've been rubbing it as often as I can. I have a horribly painful trigger point knot. Had a physio tell me that I'll tear it if I don't address it.
@ddmom0811 its hot here too. Already 80 yesterday. Boys would think its cool, you'd probably get some of them into running because of it. LOL!
I love sandels too, but I won't fret over a grody toenail!0 -

Maybe that means I'm not trying hard enough...
Alright guys, I know you were waiting with bated breath to hear this: I finally went back and figured out my mileage for this month. Best I can figure, based on my sloppy reporting methods, I'm at 90.2/100 for the month.
That includes tonight's 3.8 mile run around the neighborhood after a few days off. I've been knocked out of commission by an astoundingly awful head cold that I picked up on that Frontier flying cesspool.
Makes me a little nervous, because I'm running my next half marathon in 3 days... Run the Bluegrass at Keeneland Racetrack!
I'll be there too
Awesome! I've never run it before, but I'm looking forward to the course- have you ever run it?
I haven't run it before, but hear it is super-hilly. I'm not racing it though - I'm running a bit before and treating it as a long run for my marathon in 3 weeks.0 -

@akirkman86 - Sound like we are on the exact same week of Hal Higdon. But you're doing it pushing a stroller!!! Very impressive...that's gotta count for the extra bonus mileage when you push him up hills!0

The elevation map doesn't look too painful- 492 ft gain, pretty well spread out. Compared to the Flying Pig's half course, it looks more doable.
I was planning to treat it as a training run for the Pig, but now I'm waffling on whether to run the full or half in May, so I'm using this weekend to gauge my fitness, I guess.0 -
Not much out of me they last few days. I was out of town for a long weekend with no real exercise.

I haven't lost a toe nail either, I think I'll keep it that way LOL Like others my shoes are one size too big. I do ruin lots of pedicures though now that my nail salon won't do gels on my feet anymore.
@4leighbee Vegas sounds awesome have a great time
@stoshew71 good luck this weekend, I thought it was next weekend. I hear that's a great course
@elise4270 I'm glad you were able to talk to a doctor that understands exactly how you feel. What made you decide to go with the surgery?
@SBRRepeat - good luck on the half
@fabnine - nice to see you, what a great streak that was, amazing!

I officially cannot keep up with this thread! You guys are crazy! lol
To-date, I've completed 92 miles in March. While I don't have a mileage goal, I'm estimating I'll top out around 120 miles. Just finished a 5k and currently training for a half.0
