1.) do cardio at lunch today :)
2.) lift weights tonight after work: nope
3.) track all my food :)

    Just for today
1.) Accept that I do not have all of the talents other have but I have my own talents and I am just as worthy:)
    2.) Cardio at lunch
    3.) weights tonight
    4.) track all my food

I decided I am not going to use a frown face when I do not complete my goal because I am doing my best. I do not want to tear myself down and want to work on positive energy:)

    Yesterday, 3/2
    1. Log every bite that I eat - no matter what :)
    2. minimum 30 minutes exercise :) = Got in 35 minutes on the ellipitical, and went on a brief, 10 minute walk. It was cold and windy outside, but I think that walk helped with me not overeating for stress!
    3. Do not look forward and worry about the future for my daughter. :)
    4. Do not turn to food for comfort. :)

    Just for today, 3/3
    1. 30 minutes either walking or the ellipitical
    2. log everything I eat

Goals are simple today, to just try and stay focused. I am so down because we were going to meet our son for our grandsons 9th birthday this weekend, 4 hrs away. Our daughter with mental illness is attempting to work, and whenever she does this, she quickly spirals downhill. She started a new job Monday, and even though we planned this trip 2 months ago, now she says she has to work on Friday. We cannot leave her alone. I am so disappointed, but I have to always look at the positives, and just pray that our son and grandson understands. But I will have to work at not turning to food for comfort.

Ruby - you are so right! Even if we do not meet all our goals, we are trying, so that does not deserve a sad face. I think all of us that come on here are doing are best, and that says a lot. So very proud of everyone here!! We are all going to make it - with each others help! Sending positive vibes to everyone!

I'm noticing so many of us struggle with the same all or nothing thinking. Me too. We did not get here with one extra snack. The problem is (or at least for me, and I think for some of you too) when I make that one poor choice, I give up and keep eating even more poor choices. I need to let myself enjoy my treat (planned or not) then climb right back up on the wagon and make better choices right away. This is the only way I can make any of this work for the rest of my life. One day at a time, one choice at a time, one tiny step at a time.

SOOOOO TRUE! And a good way to say it. Thank you!

Happy Birthday Grandma Jackie!!! Hope you have a great day and congratulations on the year of maintenance!
Ruby: I agree, don't use the frowny faces! Keep doing your best!
Taxmom: I agree, I do get in that cycle of if I make one bad choice, I just keep sliding down that slippery slope. We should enjoy the treat and move on.

    Just for today:
    1) Get in 75 total minutes of elliptical, stationary bike and walking
    2) Drink 6-8 glasses of water
    3) Stay under my 1200 calories, make better choices.

    Everyone have a great day!!

Hi all. Got caught up last couple of days as am away with work for 3 very intense days (13 hours today).
So quick recap of last 2 days:
    Good:
    - pushed self in bootcamp again. Making progress
    Not so good:
    - ate 3 bowls of rice krispies for breakfast. Why oh why?
    - snacked early eve while working at the hotel
    - spectacularly missed calorie goal

    Today:
    Good:
    - made time to meditate despite only 4 hours sleep
    - ok healthy hoyel breakfast and did not overeat
    - fab healthy lunch & did not overeat
    - resisted temptation to comfort eat pizza tonight and had salad. But with potato wedges

    Not so good:
    - someone left a mars bar on my desk at lunch. I wolfed it before I even thought about it.

Next 2 days will be equally challenging. Hope to get more sleep tonight to help me manage it.

    - no morning snack frome the hotel cake selection
    - stay within normal calorie goal + 20% (would rather succeed on an easier goal than fail at a tough one)

I forgive my mindless skipping of breakfast because I was killing financial things all day, and for that, I pretty much kick butt.. hard. I will enjoy a great dinner as almost -anything- is do-able, today.

I need to leave early for work tomorrow, so I'm going to get this posted tonight before I forget.
    taxmom9093 wrote: »

    1. Take a walk :D Really worked hard on the treadmill this morning.
    2. Log Everything I eat and no snacking after 10pm. :D I want a snack, but I can wait til morning.
    3. Do not overpromise. I tend to take on more at work than I can reasonably accomplish which is very stressful. :) Much better.

So for Wednesday, Just for Today I will

    1. Take a walk. Around the office if that is the only option due to rain/sleet/snow
    2. Log Everything I eat and no snacking after 10pm.
    3. Relax and do not overreact. I think this will be a day that requires patience. I can do that

Stay safe and warm everyone and have a Wonderful Wednesday.

Joan, I know you must feel really disappointed right now, but you are doing the best you can with the life you have right now. I pray that your son and grandson understand, but I know if they were the ones who needed you more at this point, you would be there instead. Hang in there and do what you can.

And yes, food IS fuel not therapy. Something I need to remind myself sometimes too. Also, food is not a substitute for sleep, no matter how tired I get.

I know you are worried about your daughter right now, but don't forget to take care of yourself too.

    2. I will work for at least 4 hours
    3. I will only eat 1200 calories
    4. I will drink 2.5 litres of water
    5. I will weigh everything & log it!

Yesterday I succeeded in simple goals of logging everything I eat and not giving in if I eat more than I should. I was over my calorie goal by around 100 calories again. I can live with that.

Today I am taking my auntie out for a very late Christmas present lunch at her choice of a Wetherspoons so do not expect to stay within calorie goal. However I will:

Log everything I eat with best estimates of portion sizes at lunch.
Try to make as healthy choices as possible at the pub rather than giving up on the day.

To all who are having such a hard time I hope things improve for you all soon.

    2. Do a good 2 hours of studying
    3. Do some stretching to improve my flexibility

I managed to avoid extra snacking at work, but was really hungry when I got home and went over on calories. I did some stretching, although it wasn't for long because I was tired.

    Just for today I will:

    1. Only eat the meals and snacks I brought to work and not be tempted by junk
    2. Not go over my calorie allowance
