I would say Little Caesar's Hot N Ready is fast food.

Or crap in a box, whichever term you prefer.

I have never once had Little C's...

One look at the nutritional content will tell you it's at least as unhealthy as McDonald's and other fast food!

    what the hell??

it has carbs, protein, and fats all three essential macros...

Seriously. What is wrong with pizza? Sure it has lots of calories but that doesn't make it "bad" or anything.

Pizza is such a generic term. It's more of a cooking method than a food. Like other things of this nature such as soup, stew, omelet, sandwich, etc., how healthy or unhealthy it is depends on the ingredients and what else you eat.

Oxford Dictionary has it defined as "Food that can be prepared quickly and easily and is sold in restaurants and snack bars as a quick meal or to be taken out:"

    FWIW

I am curious why OP wants to know...

I guess she is not coming back to clarify

Fairly certain OP has decided "fast food == bad food" and wants to know if she has to classify pizza as a "bad food"

What makes you fairly certain of this?

Because this is MFP and this sort of thing gets posted here all the time

It's a fitness site and this is a Food and Nutrition category. OP has a food question where else will they ask their question.

I can understand it gets old and boring but hey it's their 2nd post let's give them a break.

My point was that there is no purpose to that question. As far as I can figure the only reason she would ask this is because she attaches a stigma to the concept of "fast food". She then goes on to wonder if she has to give up something she likes because it is suddenly in this "bad stuff" category.

In other words, this discussion is completely pointless.

There's a new place that has popped up that's like a Chipotle of pizza; there are some suggested pies, but you can put whatever toppings on it you want all for the same price. Plus, it's a pretty thin crust, and they have pretty hot oven, so it cooks in 4 minutes. If it's busy, it seriously backs up and takes forever.

Casual dining pizza? Strangest thing about the place is they have wine on tap... O_o

Whatever it's Pizza. It's delicious and it's tasty but in my world it's fast food.

Mind you - in my world.

Dominos might not be the best pizza, but it's more closely related to pizza than some of the cauliflower abominations I've seen people call pizza on here.

Domino's isn't pizza. Come to NY or CT- We have real pizza.

I put food in two categories: homemade and eating out.

Domino's would be considered eating out.

like dominos pizza for example. or pizza from your local pizza parlor. is that considered to be fast food?

I am curious on the subject in general. I am a non-native speaker of English and would like to know what the expression really includes. I have American neighbors and they consider for example Rice-a-Roni to be fast food compared to a rice dish cooked from scratch. The same goes for Mac & Cheese from Krafts, while home made Macaroni and Cheese is not.
I always thought that only food from chain stores like Burger King, Wendy's etc was " fast food ". Does KFC, Taco Bell, or Pollo Loco fall under fast food ?

Fast food is food that you purchase already made with no service other than a cashier taking your order and giving you your food. This includes any burger places, taco places, chicken (like KFC and Chik-fil-a)and a couple of pizza places like Fazoli's and Rocky Rococo where they make the pizza ahead of time and you buy a slice.

Casual dining and Family restaurants are one step up. You sit at a table and a server takes your order, but it is not fancy. They welcome children and usually have a separate kids menu. Most have some alcohol, but some family restaurants do not. Many of the big chains fall into this category like Applebee's, Chili's, TGI Fridays, Olive Garden, Denny's etc.

Fine dining is the type of restaurant you dress up for.

Rice-a-Roni and Kraft Mac and Cheese are "convenience foods". These are pre-packaged foods that require minimal effort on your part to prepare. They are not fast foods because you still have to do some preparation.
