smoked salmon with a squeeze of fresh lemon on a piece of wholemeal toast with a poached egg on top. Gorgeous0

Toasted Kashi 7 grain waffle with greek yogurt spread on top with berries, slivered almonds, apple slices, or whatever comes to hand. Fairly filling and around 200-250 calories depending on what you put on it and how much yogurt you use.0

Why do you need new ideas?
Do you like eating what you eat? If so, just eat the same thing. It's easy to log and tastes great. Why not?
If, on the other hand, you're bored of your food, try greek yogurt, egg white omelet, or a protein smoothie with fruit.0 -
Bacon pancakes. Make the bacon, then in a different pan lay them out and pour bacon batter over them. You can freeze them and eat later.0
-
One of my favs is a toasted multi grain English muffin with a large poached egg, 2 slices of prosciutto, and 2 tbsp of mashed avocado.0
-
I love plain 'heathy' cereal with milk.
Breakfast sandwiches. On toast, English muffins, tortillas and bagels.
I'm a sucker for traditional eggs, breakfast meat and potatoes.
Greek yogurt or cottage cheese and fruit.
I love my leftovers, too.
I basically eat anything that fits my needs for breakfast. My goal is a good amount of protein and fiber to keep me full. The time I have also influences my choices. What are you looking for nutritionally in a breakfast? What do/don't you have time to prepare?0 -

I really don't like breakfast. But if I don't eat it, I faint. So I have cereal and milk (usually all bran honey almond or apple, or special k), sometimes with diced dried plums or apricots, or I have crumpets/toast.0

I thought the topic was breakfast foods... somehow we are now talking about diet trends? Everyone has their own plans for what works for them as far as how to arrange their macros. Personally... if it fits my calorie goal then I'm good. I believe a balanced diet of carbs, fat and protein is healthy and it works for me (maybe not everyone).
As for my favorite breakfast foods... I love oatmeal. For me, it keeps me full and it tastes yummy! I like to load it up with tons of fresh fruit like bananas & raspberries. And maybe some dark chocolate chips or a spoonful of peanut butter. Lately I've been addicted to a custom oatmeal website with tons of flavors like carrot cake and honey... and I still load it up with extra fruit. Super yum!
Another fav... english muffin with poached eggs, spinach and fresh tomato.0 -
^^^^^ sounds amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

This is an easy and yummy breakfast you can do the night before...
Take a half cup (or however much you want) of steel cut oats, some almond milk (enough to saturate the oats), some frozen blueberries, and put it in a bowl and put in the fridge. In the morning, pop it in the microwave for about a minute. You might want to add some more almond milk, depending on how runny/thick you like your oatmeal. SO GOOD.
I always drink with a glass of organic whole milk. Keeps me full until lunch or later!0 -
Ah yes breakfast... Let's see
chocolate flax muffin
Cinnamon flax muffin ( add raisins or apples if you want)
Flax pancakes with sugarfree syrups
Eggwhite omelet with diced seasoned chicken breast and shredded cheese0 -
The best thing I ever discovered about breakfast is that it's just whatever food you eat after not eating over night (i'e: breaking your fast). It does not have to be "breakfast food".
It could be cheese, crackers and a few raw carrot sticks, or a plate of leftover salad with a chunk of fish or chicken on top. Or a cup of lentil soup. Or a small baked potato (microwaved) with salsa and cottage cheese. Or a ham sandwich. I like leftover potato and egg salad. Whatever is A) available, appealing to you, and C) not a total calorie or fat bomb, is fair game. For best results, include some protein food.....
Free yourself from the tyranny of breakfast foods....... LOL0 -
I usually have cereal for the convenience factor.when I want to change it up I go for oatmeal.I sometimes take vanilla yogurt and mix it in with my oatmeal with some fruit on the side.I'm not too much of a breakfast person otherwise0

My breakfasts are:
3 turkey sausage links with one over easy egg. If I'm really hungry I add 10 tater tots. 100/70/160 calories
Turkey sausage/egg/cheese on an English muffin (not homemade-just pop in the microwave), with a glass of vanilla almond milk. 260/90 calories.0 -
Ok I think people are insane on how much protein to eat and carbs and so on....Breakfast I do a honey mellon and a couple oranges..
Lunch I do 32 ounce green smoothie
snack 16oz green smoothie
dinner huge salad... or veggie stir fry
I am 260lbs and do not take in much protein I think its a bunch of crap this thing about 1-2 grams of protein per lb..0 -
I work very early in the morning...so I have to be able to take to work what Im going to eat for breakfast at my desk...as well as lunch and snacks...10 hr days means planning way ahead..so the night before here is what my staple has been..but then again Im having issues trying to meet my 1200 calories a day due to the fact that the majority of what I eat is at work and has to either be cold or warmed in a microwave.
1 slice whole grain health nut bread, with .15 tsp of coconut oil (i was amazed it taste awesome)
1 hardboiled egg
2 strip of turkey bacon. (I cook it the night before and then bring it in cold...it turns out kinda of like turkey jerky)
Wal-Mart Great Value - Turkey Bacon, 2 Strip 70
Sprouts Farmers Market - Organic Virgin & Unrefined Coconut Oil, 0.25 Tbs. (14g) 30
Trader Joe's - Sprouted Whole Grain Bread/Toast, 1 slice 80
Eggs - Hard-boiled (whole egg), 1 large 78
258 calories total and it fills me up
works out to very low calories...but i snack on dark chocolate covered cherries (about 3) before lunch and then heat up a lean pork/cabbage stir fry or whatever Ive brought in for lunch. Im lucky, I have a fridge in my office and can keep plenty of goodies to get to throughout the day. So cooking is out of the question for me unless it's after 6pm when I get home.0 -
I guess I'm lucky. I go to the farmers market at the local swap meet every Saturday.
I like about 6 to 8 oz of spinach (Fresh) than cooked down.
1 half cup of mushrooms
Sautéed in 1/3 pat of butter (.3 of of inch)
Add 3 oz of roasted chicken breast
1 whole egg, and 2 egg whites
1 slice Kraft Swiss cheese (sliced up thin) (After everything is almost done)
scramble,,,,,, done0 -

This thread is making me hungrier than I already was (i'm stuck in a hotel room right now with no food options but junk food hubby and i took from the continental breakfast this morning to have - in case of emergency (yes, it's free, but doesn't mean you HAVE to eat it! )...and i really don't want to eat a muffin or donut or chocolate chip cookie!! LOL0 -

Cut the crust off 6 slices of your bread of choice, spray a 6 cup muffin tin and use the bread to line the cups. Half fill them with chopped ham, spinach, mushroom, corn, roasted capsicum... whatever floats your boat. Crack an egg into each of them (dont break the yolk unless you prefer them that way), top with some grated parmesan and oven bake until the egg is set.
They are tasty, portable, good hot or cold, easily reheatable and easy to make in different varieties.0 -
