trying burpee challenge

day one completed, one burpee
I am doint them without the pushup for now,
may alter later when my upper body strength increases, lol
I'll also simultaneously run the 30day shred, Ill have a boards dedicated to my progress with that soon as well I plan to start tomorrow

    I think I need to work on my form though, my back hurt a little today, even though I only did two, prolly not a goo thing

    progress is good no matter how small, well done

    not tried a burpee yet, seen them and think i would probably fall over and hurt myself after 2 or 3 lol

    6 burpies total so far.
    and I decided that since I want to increase my upper body strength, that I'll add the pushups.

    but it takes away from the cardio aspect since I pause for the pushup
    so which variation of this do you guys prefer

    you can do floppy burpees, strict burpees, burpees with the pushup from your knees, burpees with the pushup strict, or any combo of those. id stick with strict burpees and modify your pushup however needed.

    Instead of adding one per day, do twice as many the next day. You'll be doing billions in no time. :)

    I do mine with a push up. If you do them fast enough you'll get your cardio, no problemo :wink:

    From standing position, squat down.
    Jump your legs back into a push up position.
    (If you can't "jump" them back, just put them back one at a time and work on the "jump" action.)
    Do a push up. Any style push up you can do here is acceptable. You'll build muscle and endurance.
    Jump your legs forward.
    Stand up and jump into the air, arms raised to the ceiling.

    That is a burpee.
    Easy, right?
    Now do 20.
    *groans and hits the floor*

    I think the OP shemyg06 decided to do his own challenge and posted it here for accountability and tracking.
    I stumbled upon it and loved it.
    Burpees suck!!
    But I can do one a day, then add one more, then another. Baby steps. I can do this.... and maybe pull off a real push up some day!

    sory abou the sir thing madam, and you are right, this topic is for my own accountability.
    the burpie challenge as I understand it is you start with one burpie on day one, and every day you add another until you get to day 100, personally I don't know if I can do that many in one day, but I want to get to atleast 30 since I am doing this with the 30 day challenge

    and I was wrong, even with the pushups, you do still get some cardio in, im felling it today, and only did 6 burpies, lol

    and there is no way I can just double this every day, well o can but I wont make it past day day 7. maybe not even day 5 lol

    and for a more detailed explanation of a burpie youtube it, I will not post any link because there are variations, and I will leave it to you to decide which one is right for you, all of the are great body weight exercises, from what I saw

    No way I could double either! The exponential factor is too strong!

    Day 1: 1
    Day 2: 2
    Day 3: 4
    Day 4: 8
    Day 5: 16

    I've hit the "yeah right" factor there. And Day 6 and 7? HAH HAH HAH!
    But adding one a day for 30 days... I can do that. :smile:
    Gotta set a reminder on my phone so I remember to do it !

    Shouldn't be much of a pause for the pushup. Should all flow. I love/hate burpees and do them everyday. For your pushups you can try elevating your hands to make them easier to work on the upper body strength. That's with pushups separately to help when you have to do them during the burpee session.

    What do you mean by 'elevating your hands'?
    I'm assuming you mean putting them somewhere other than the traditional placement?

    I finished day 59 and I had to give up because my knees just couldn't take it. I was trying to make up too many days at a time. I think I did about 140 two days in a row to catch up after being sick. I managed to complete the squat challenge, though.

    Perfect I will start my burpee challenge tonight. So I just do as many as I can (with good form) and increase the number? or do I start with one and gradually increase by one? I want this challenge to make me sweat. What to do....

    for me I started at one, but the first few days are really easy, you can start with more if you want

    Day 1 of burpee challenge. OMG 5 burpees and my arms are spent. Feeling okay enough to challenge myself tomorrow.
