Can I have, say, Hugh Jackman (although I have a distinct feeling that he would be less interested in me than say my husband)
Does your husband look like Deborra-Lee Furness or something?
more like Beaker from the Muppets

    but he has a penis

I have no idea what that entails. I stuck to the old fashioned CICO plan and have been maintaining since.

As long as he doesn't sound like Beaker. That might get old.

depends on whether I'm acting particularly pre-menstrual or not ;)

I did it. The workouts took forever and the diet was really restrictive. CICO would be a lot easier.

My dad tried it and didn't really have good results, but I can't vouch for how faithfully he was following the eating plan.

it was to complicated IMHO when i tried it way back. however the eating for life cookbook had some great recipes in it that i have perfected and used over and over for years.

    What is CICO?

    CICO

    calories in, calories out

eat what you want, within your daily calorie limits. want to eat more? exercise. burn more than you eat, basically.

It can be very restrictive yes but I think I might need that discipline for a while...

I train most days anyway... So might be better to
    So something like this

You need discipline? Here's how you do it.

Weigh everything you eat, log everything you eat, and stay within your calorie goals to lose weight. Make sure your food calorie entries are as accurate as you can get them by doing your own research. Do this every day and you will lose weight.

Weight loss has nothing to do with diet type, but has everything to do with your balance of calories in/calories out.
