Returning to keto/paleo: veg. not working

I haven't been logged into mfp probably since I started the thread. Wow, I didn't expect or intend that it go south! :noway: Not only have I missed my Weight Watchers goal by a year, I've gained about 10 lbs.
Anyway, neither the vegetarian nor keto/paleo thing works. I've come to grips with not being able to go vegetarian because I find myself overdosing on carbs and not getting enough protein. My doctor ran a celiac test, which came up negative as expected. But my intestines tell me that I muct avoid gluten products at all costs.
I'm less inclined to feel guilty about eating meat because of some things people of my same religious persuasions have said... veg, is not for everyone. With keto, I find myself simply eating too much, and I really don't like the idea of eliminating oatmeal, sweet potatoes, rice (brown, white or wild), and beans (especially lentil soup ). That's always been a problem. I can't bring myself to go back to Weight Watchers, though it's a no-brainer as far as tracking. Unfortunately, it's too easy to eat the wrong things, not knowing your macros and only using points. So, I think I'm going to bite the bullet and give a more balanced 40/35/25 +/- ala Body For Life a shot.
Good luck as you continue to experiment-finding the right fit can be challenging! I've experimented with just about every plan out there, and it took a lot of trial and error before I found the right path for myself
Also, have you looked into any IF plans yet? I had great success with alternate day IF (JUDDD), and there's many who've had great results with 5:2 and also the leangains version 18/6.0 -
Once you bring ethics into eating meat, you've lost me. I eat meat and I don't have the slightest feeling that it's immoral. I don't lose any sleep at night. The beauty of it is that we are both free to do what you want, so remember, for every animal you don't eat, I'll eat 3
The last comment was out of line. Grow up and take some accountability as part of the dominant species on the planet. To claim we have no responsibility to honor life is to declare that we are no more evolved than the basest of wild animals, which I do not believe.
It's only 'out of line' to YOU because you can't seem to understand that not everyone has the same values as yourself. People actually eat meat and don't feel bad about it. Sorry.
It was probably a little out of line, as the only reason it was included was to take a jab at the other poster. Now, whether or not it was called for...0 -

Thanks. I haven't looked into IF (intermittent fasting?), but I've seen the term used a lot here and there. What are the other things you referred to... JUDDD, 5:2? I've heard of leangains too.0 -
Why are you yelling?
A little guilt creeping in?
Did you know most pigs are smarter than most dogs? Probably just dirty vee-gan propaganda...:ohwell:
 Is it ethical for you to raise 10 million Fidos (a week) in cages, then hit 10 million Fidos (a week) "in the head with a mallet" (your words) and eat 10 million of him (a week)? MilesVictors is no victim, he's an adult, he's done the research (as I have) ...and he hasn't lost control of himself, as you did.
I probably would. Protein is protein.0 -
But vegans foods have partially hydrogenated oils or trans fats, killing orangs for palm oil, refined carbs and sugar which are killing Americans by the thousands and meat eaters have bacon....no contest.
Imagine if you could hear the vegetables scream...0
