We were never meant to eat as much protein as we do now. Look at documentaries on Food, look at photos of people in the 1800's etc. I think it's harmful in the long run.

    Strong logic.

I still want to know what the photos prove.

Here are some of my ancestors from the 1800s:

Too much protein, too little protein, or just right?

Yeah there would be a lot more than just 10% carbs. If you guys truly want to live healthy fit lives you need a balance of all 3 macros. Fats especially, meaning poly and monounsaturated fats. You know nuts, avocados, fish. And why rice cakes? Go for a lower glycemic carb if you goal is weight loss, try quinoa or wild rice instead of that processed crap. Just weight for those head aches, loss of energy, and feeling of your body shutting down from protein overdose.

You guys are clearly in educated. Look it up. Yeah I eat 225g a day, but if your diet consists of strictly protein it will *kitten* your entire system up, a guy above me even said so. It starts to damage your kidneys. I'm glad the Catholic Church had to step in on this one to show that only they are right and anyone educated persons must be wrong, going to tell me the world is flat or how it's at the centre of the universe next? Wanna shut me down on your ability to overdose on water as well?

If your whole diet is protein, you'll have issues not from protein, but not having the fats needed to create hormones. You'd almost have to be setting out to make that happen.
Now, very technically, if you switched to almost all protein, the first days would be hard on the liver and kidneys as they'd have to ramp up producing the enzymes that breakdown protein and turn it into an energy source. This is known as rabbit starvation. It has next to nothing to do with any diet eaten by anyone who has internet access - this is pretty much being in wilderness having access only to incredibly lean meat.

There are actually dangers to over consumption of certain amino acids. Excessive protein consumption is a common discussion and concern among nutritionist. And even if over dose was the wrong word for the situation, it does not mean people need to come in without a shred of useful information just to attempt to discredit others who are just trying to be informative to someone asking a question.

if you actually bothered to read the thread, you'd see that OP was logging inaccurately, and has already corrected the logging issue

but thanks for shocking us with the concept that a 90% protein diet would be unhealthy

And thanks, but if you had read my post you'd see that I acknowledged that within my first few sentences, after that I was merely trying to be informative for the OPs benefit. I've got to ask man, what's your problem? Like I get that filling your ego up by being a *kitten* disturber can be fun, but don't you ever get bored with being up on that high horse?

brother you couldn't take a few joking replies to your difficult-to-read post and immediately lashed out by calling everyone uneducated

    so much for ego

hey it's just the internet bro don't take it too seriously

many here advocate at least a somewhat-balanced diet and I don't think anyone would suggest that consuming 90% of your diet as protein would be advisable, because that would be crazy. but you never know

Yeah fair enough. Yeah I was just thinking at 90% for me would be over 600g a day. Obviously less for the OP, but you know what I mean. Yeah definitely, some peoples idea of healthy or balanced can be quite extreme

Actually I'm advocating a 90% protein diet, 600g or more a day. Not for health, but just because anyone that can afford to follow the diet can afford the rates I want to charge for consultation.

You definitely have to be careful to pick a correct database item. I love the serving size on this yogurt:

it's all in good spirits man just keep pushing the info, here and there you'll get some *kitten* for it, you know how it goes. sometimes people are right, sometimes people are wrong, then we can learn something new
