Because if you haven't even met her yet, why should you waste all your gas money. Don't go all the way. Go halfway. Meet her someplace halfway between your home and hers, that way everyone has skin in the game. Make her drive her own car so if you don't like her it's not such an awkward drive ALL THE WAY back to her place to drop her off.
