    Oh yeah, so I got 1.6. 46.9/80.

@Elise4270 So sorry about the bad news at work. And as far as hills go, there's not many in my area, but there's down at my upcoming races, and I will be shamelessly walking up all of them! Might roll down one just for giggles.

Friday-2.25 miles. Not great but better than nothing. That puts me at 21.5 miles so far for the month. Headed to the coast this weekend to visit my grandfather, so I'll be doing good to get my walking in (his house is right on a busy highway, but hopefully we can walk at the beach some). Hopefully I'll be back in time on Monday to get a more energetic run in and catch up for the month. Have a great weekend everyone!

    7/1 = 5 miles
    7/2 = 6 miles @ 6 weeks postpartum!
7/3 = weight training in the morning, 4 miles stroller walk
7/4 = Rest day, holiday dinner with the family and a very cranky baby. Add a dog terrified by the fireworks, shaking, panting and salivating on my bed, and you get the whole picture of my 4th of July night. Breath in…Breath out…
7/5 = 4 miles run, hot and humid, but I needed it for my sanity; 3 miles walk with the baby.
7/6 = 3 miles. Super hot, humid, yucky but an outside run it was!
7/7 = 2 miles around the block. Very tired today.
    7/8 = 6 miles
7/9 = Rest day, very much needed!
    7/10 = 5 miles
7/11 = 4 miles stroller walk, both mommy and baby needed it
    7/12 = 4 miles stroller walk
    7/13 = strength training
    7/14 = 1 mile quick walk
7/15 = 5 miler run, woohoo! Perfect weather this morning.
    7/16 = rest day
    7/17 = 4 miles, hot and humid.

Sorry for not been very interactive. My new baby is going through a phase (hopefully?) where I am literally not allowed to leave her side. This too shall pass, I keep telling myself...

Aww, enjoy it! Soon enough she'll be 20, walking out the door to go to work and you say "have a good night, make lots of money", and she'll just keep walking. And this will happen every time she leaves for work. On a rare occasion, you'll get a scoff. Enjoy those phases that they love you!

12 miles yesterday in Yakima, WA on the smelliest trail I have ever run. Whose idea was it to put the trail by the sewage treatment plant or whatever that was.

And TODAY is a rest day in Spokane. Man I love those. Three full weeks of my Nike+Running "crush your pr" coaching plan and I am 100% following plan. 5 weeks to Bridge if the Gods Half, and 13 to the Hayden Lake Marathon.

Thanks for being here for me, to read my reports!

7/1 - 3.3 miles - usually my rest day, but keeping my streak alive (3 more days!)
7/2 - 4.6 miles while eating lots of breakfast gnats yuck!

7/5 - rest day and travel to El Paso ugh what a trip
    7/6 - 2.5 horrible dreadmill miles
7/7 - 4.2 miles and 2.25 - went and ran where my boss told me. It was beautiful. It was like 90 and no shade during the run and my breathing is taking a beating, but it was worth to 30 min drive to get there.
    7/8 - 5.5 miles
    7/9 - 3.7 miles
    7/10 rest day
    7/11 - 3.1 miles Strong Girls 5K run today.

I said do you want to going swimming? She jumped up took off down to our house and stood at the front door, I let her out back and she jumped into the pool. Smart doggie.

@jorocka great job getting out in the rain to run some magical miles
@runningmischka every stage ends, when it's replaced by another LOL I have to say though Skip is 15 and if she never had to leave my side that would be good for her. She's at soccer camp and has called me twice a day and texts every chance she gets. She tells me all the time I'm her best friend and she'd rather be with me than her friends. I'm taking advantage of it because I know the time will come that some boy will make that change :disappointed: But I do know it's hard when you can't put them down or get out of their line of sight without the crying.
@jimcrackindandy have a great race tomorrow
@7lenny7 and @karllundy you are both too funny about the shoes. As you know Allen is away, he is a girl with shoes too, so far he's ordered online 2 pairs of shoes and 1 pair of boots that have arrived here. Though I admit I'd never get into a count with him either!
@melaniefave41 sorry about the cut on your foot ouch. Love the Wizard of Oz.

The Half Marathon is tomorrow. Getting nervous. Praying.

    You will do great!

@Runningmischka - my kids both went through that, especially my daughter. I couldn't stand to have them cry, so I carried them around all the time it seemed. And daughter was 10 pounds/23" at birth so it wasn't an easy load!

@419er - lol - sounds awful running by something like that!

    July 1 - rest
    July 2 - 3.75 run/walk combo
    July 3 - 5 miles
    July 4 - 5.76 miles
July 5 - walked 5 miles in morning to scout out a place to do long run. Then walked another 6 all around the city.
    July 6 - rest
July 7 - 8.6 - fun run to Roosevelt Island and then around the island. Weather is great for me!
    July 8 - 4.1 miles
July 9 - 3.51 miles - last run with daughter until HM in October. :(
July 10 - 5.2 miles in the hills of Virginia.
    July 11 - 3.5
    July 12 - 4.3 very slow miles
    July 13 - rest
    July 14 - 9.26 miles
July 15- rest day - driving back to FL day.
    July 16 - strength training
July 17 - 5.62 - back in the Florida heat! Wasn’t as bad as I imagined it would be.

@skippygirlsmom wow! 15 and she loves you? Mine seemed to outgrow me about that age. Once in a while my daughter wants to eat sushi or shop with me, and shes a normal, loving, and an enjoyable kid. But most of the time she just rolls her eyes at me. I'm so jealous, but so glad you and she have that relationship! But her twin brother is a bit of a mommy's boy still. He's always my buddy.

A warm and mostly rainy 16 miles today. I felt good the whole way, HR stayed in desired range even in the later miles, and seemed like a good strong run. Yet it was possibly my slowest pace in some time. It was the warmest morning yet, 82* out the door at 4:30am to beat the later heat, and I suppose with the rain it was essentially 100% humidity. So if a slow pace is the worst of it, I'll take it.

    7/1 - 12 miles
    7/2 - 6 miles (18 miles total)
    7/4 - 16 miles (34 miles total)
    7/5 - 12 miles (46 miles total)
    7/7 - 6 miles (52 total)
    7/8 - 12 miles (64 total)
    7/9 - 6 miles (70 total)
    7/11 - 16 miles (86 total)
    7/14 - 6 miles (92 total)
    7/15 - 12 miles (104 total)
    7/16 - 6 miles (110 total)
    7/18 - 16 miles (126 total)

    Goal 200 miles

    July 04 - 6.4 miles (10K + 0.2 warmup)

    July 12 - 7.1 miles <-- Distance PR
    July 13 - 4.6 miles
    July 14 - 3.1 miles
    July 15 - 3.2 miles

    July Goal: 90 miles
    Miles so far: 60.6
    Miles left: 29.4

A late 10K today on a hot morning. Only 77F when it started, it crept up quick and I saw 84F when I left, about 30 mnutes after the race. I learn something every race and today I learned not to sign up for a 9:30am race in July until you know what the forecast will be. It's supposed to reach a heat index of 94 today.

The good news is I placed 37th overall! He bad news is there was only 51 runners...smallest race I've been in. They had 140 last year. Long story short, I set a new PR today at 1:03:42 (by 63 seconds) but I'm convinced the course was short. The heat was just killing me. Still, it was for a great cause and I had a great time. I used my "old" shoes...perhaps had I used one of my new pair would have broken the 1 hour mark (JK!)

@Aresende90, how are the dogs handling the runs?
@JimCrackinDandy, I'm excited to hear about your race tomorrow! Good running!
@toadhunter911, glad you're back on the road!
    @RunTimer, I like the photo!
@mwyvr, I've tried to figure it out, but I have to ask...What is "MAF" pace?

It's our 20th anniversary weekend so what do I do? Get up extra early for a run on Friday, then pack the truck, load the bikes, sort out logistics, skiddaddle out of town and drive through the mountains and desert (yes, we have both here in BC) for 5 hours, arrive, drink beer, eat great Indian food, sleep and other stuff and wake up early and go out on another run LOL. And then cycle all over wine country and "taste" wine (natch). Fun stuff.

@mwyvr, I've tried to figure it out, but I have to ask...What is "MAF" pace?

Sorry Lenny but I misspoke to confuse the issue further, should have said MAF heart rate; MAF is Maximum Aerobic Function, a term coined by Dr. Phil Maffetone. He's a proponent (like many others) of doing the bulk of training at a lower heart rate to build aerobic capacity. His formula is apparently based on observation of a large number of runners - basically: 180 - your age = MAF target maximum heart rate. Minus 5 BPM if you have injuries. Plus 5BPM if running for a year injury free. Target your "MAF" slow runs between MAF rate and MAF-10bpm.

I use 130 or 135 as my MAF rate even though I'm 53.

If you Google Maffetone you'll find him. There's more to it than that but them's the basics!

Bottom line it's a decent guide, adjust as necessary.
