I guess I'll wait on the ticker until August--I don't know how to set one up! :)

    7/2 4.5 @ 12:42 treadmill
    7/3 4.5 @ 13:58
    7/4 5 @ 11:54 treadmill

    7/6 4 @ 12:00 treadmill
    7/8 5.5 @ 11:42 treadmill
    7/9 6.5 @ 11:41 treadmill
    7/10 3 @ 10:47 treadmill (good time for me!)
    7/11 2.5 @ 12:54

7/13 3.5 @ 11:55/15 splits (half was walking with friends)
    7/14 3.75 @ 12:40 treadmill
    7/15 6.25 @ 13:40
    7/16 2 @ 15:00 (walking with friends)
    7/17 4.25 @ 13:41
    7/18 4.75 @ 13:24

    7/20 5.25 @ 11:57 treadmill
    7/21 3.5 @ 12:12 treadmill
7/22 7.25 @ 13:54 (my fastest mile was 12:51--on a blacktop path. The gravel felt especially loose today, otherwise...or maybe it was just me, lol.)
7/23 1.5 on the treadmill @ 13:00 ; I was in so much pain...so I went swimming after doing arms. Felt much better!
    7/24 4.5 @ 12:29 (a good time outdoors for me!)
7/25 3.5 @ 12:03 --an experiment running outdoors on pavement vs. the normal gravel lake run. I was definitely faster! But my trail shoes were also completely insufficient and my arches were quite painful by the end of the run and into Sunday (a rest day). Today I got new inserts for the trail shoes, but I won't make the mistake of wearing them on pavement again!

7/27 3.5 at 10:55 on the treadmill, since it was really muggy/rainy this am!
7/28 3.5 at 11:11 on the treadmill (and a butt-kicking strength training day, but not *all* legs, lol!)
7/29 5.0 at 12:48 in soup this morning. I was trying an interval program, but found I couldn't hear it at all when on the main roads. I followed this up with an even soupier hike at a local state park with the kiddos for 2.25 at 20:50.

    99.75/100 for the month

    7.14.15.... 1 M... 12 min Treadmill incline sprints
    7.15.15.... 2 M..... 20 min treadmill- 1/4 mile hill work (alternating 2.5%- 9% incline every 1/4 mile)
7.18.15.....4 M..... 37:25 pouring rain road miles. Happy happy
7.22.15.....1 M...... 10:44- boring easy day on the mill
7.26.15.... 4 M...... 38 minutes- little rough after my lifts on friday.
    7.28.15.....3.12.....28:25 min- humid "race pace"
    7.29.15.....3.06..... 28:06
7.30.15..... 3.00 ....29- little rough- body feels okay- cardiovascular recovery is in the toilet it appears. Individual runs seems to be less of a problem- but now the mileage has upped for the week- it seems to be a different ball game- interested to see how long it takes to adjust to this.

so 21.2 of 21 magical miles.

Doing 3 more tonight with my running group, which will put me at 173 for the day and 2 miles from my goal! Luckily I've got 8 planned for tomorrow! Decided to split my run today because 1) we're having a little heatwave so I thought it would be more manageable to do half in the morning humid-hot and half in the evening dryish-hot PLUS 2) tonight is a pub run and I want to do the shorter route so I have more time to socialize :)

    May I join in?

It's rather late in the month for a ticker, but perhaps I will do one next month. I am a new runner in Queens NY. I'm currently running three days per week, 30 minutes apiece, and have just added a fourth day (20 minutes). Over the next two months, I hope to build up to a 60 minute long run. I'm tracking time, not distance, and have about a 12 minute mile.

I'd like to find a local 5k to run soon.

I debated all day yesterday if I would do two 8-mile runs today to reach my goal of 200. I decided against it simply because that is more running on a Thursday than I would normally have planned, and it might interfere with the weekend long runs. So I will be 8 miles under goal after I run later today, but I'm good with that. There's always next month!

Still on the sidelines with my injury, though I'm now wondering if it's more my muscle than my Achilles. It's quickly getting better, there's no knot, swelling or stiffness, and doing eccentric heel drops doesn't hurt at all, even when I did them when the pain was at it's worst.

Based on that, I'm going on a short run tonight or tomorrow and see how it goes. Even if it is achilles tendinopathy, this article suggests that I can still run on it as long as the pain doesn't persist or get worse. If my short run goes well, I'll a longer one on Saturday.

Besides, we have dry, cool air flowing down from Canada (thank you northern neighbors!) for the next week and I don't want to miss it. Lows in the upper 50's/lower 60's for the next week!
