Congratulations to everyone whether you hit your goal or not! We've put in a lot of miles in here!

My left ankle has been on and off bothering me with achilles and just about had it healed when I leaned over to do something Wed night and hurt the other ankle! I think I am not stretching enough after my runs. I was good about it for months and got lazy with it lately. So I had the right ankle all taped up yesterday and was pretty painful to walk - way worse than the left one had been. Did the cycle class last night, ready to quit if it hurt, but it didn't. With ice and no running today it is feeling better. Went to trainer and he said "I told you that you need rest days!" Looking over the month I did have 4 rest days but they were all the first half of the month. So I need to plan my workouts a little better, incorporating rest days. Today is my last day of summer break, teachers go back Monday and kids on the 12th. As hard as it is to go back the routine of it does make it easier to plan. See you in August!

    7/1 = 5 miles
    7/2 = 6 miles @ 6 weeks postpartum!
7/3 = weight training in the morning, 4 miles stroller walk
7/4 = Rest day, holiday dinner with the family and a very cranky baby. Add a dog terrified by the fireworks, shaking, panting and salivating on my bed, and you get the whole picture of my 4th of July night. Breath in…Breath out…
7/5 = 4 miles run, hot and humid, but I needed it for my sanity; 3 miles walk with the baby.
7/6 = 3 miles. Super hot, humid, yucky but an outside run it was!
7/7 = 2 miles around the block. Very tired today.
    7/8 = 6 miles
7/9 = Rest day, very much needed!
    7/10 = 5 miles
7/11 = 4 miles stroller walk, both mommy and baby needed it
    7/12 = 4 miles stroller walk
    7/13 = strength training
    7/14 = 1 mile quick walk
7/15 = 5 miler run, woohoo! Perfect weather this morning.
    7/16 = rest day
    7/17 = 4 miles, hot and humid.
7/22 = 5 miles. This was a great run! The weather was just perfect and I my baby was peacefully sleeping in her own bed.
    7/23 = 4.5 miles
    7/24 = 5.5 miles. Perfect weather!!!
7/25 = Much needed rest day
7/26 = 3 miles stroll with the baby, hoping to go for a run later today
    7/27 = 3.5 miles
7/28 – 7/30 = multiple walk with the baby that I won’t be counting towards my mileage
7/31 = 4.5 miles to hit my goal and a little over!

Great job, everyone! I cannot believe how quickly July flew by! :o

I have been rather busy with my newborn and stuff around the house. But I did hit my target this month, yay!
    On to the next challenge!

My last post of July finds us on holidays visiting family in Calgary before looping home via Montana and Seattle for some low key R+R (relaxing and running of course!) in the Flathead Lake area and a lightning visit with more family on the coast. On the way here enjoyed running in Golden BC in the early morning mist. What a treat that was with the coolest temperatures I've experienced run in months. Back to heat here in Calgary and as a result have run twice on the treadmill of doom and boredom at our hotel. Oh well, it's better than nothing! Hopefully I can wake up before the heat tomorrow to have fun on trails somewhere.

Busted both my goals, reaching almost 300km with no injuries so far in 2015 knock on wood. Hoping to do a few more longer runs in August and must commit to doing an event in September or October or I'm wimp.

Here's to an injury free, fun filled, August for all of us. See you folks over there!

    7/9 6.5 @ 11:41 treadmill

    7/14 3.75 @ 12:40 treadmill
    7/15 6.25 @ 13:40
    7/16 2 @ 15:00 (walking with friends)

    7/20 5.25 @ 11:57 treadmill
    7/21 3.5 @ 12:12 treadmill
7/22 7.25 @ 13:54 (my fastest mile was 12:51--on a blacktop path. The gravel felt especially loose today, otherwise...or maybe it was just me, lol.)
7/23 1.5 on the treadmill @ 13:00 ; I was in so much pain...so I went swimming after doing arms. Felt much better!
    7/24 4.5 @ 12:29 (a good time outdoors for me!)
7/25 3.5 @ 12:03 --an experiment running outdoors on pavement vs. the normal gravel lake run. I was definitely faster! But my trail shoes were also completely insufficient and my arches were quite painful by the end of the run and into Sunday (a rest day). Today I got new inserts for the trail shoes, but I won't make the mistake of wearing them on pavement again!

7/27 3.5 at 10:55 on the treadmill, since it was really muggy/rainy this am!
7/28 3.5 at 11:11 on the treadmill (and a butt-kicking strength training day, but not *all* legs, lol!)
7/29 5.0 at 12:48 in soup this morning. I was trying an interval program, but found I couldn't hear it at all when on the main roads. I followed this up with an even soupier hike at a local state park with the kiddos for 2.25 at 20:50.
7/30 4.5 at 12:18 on the most boring road ever. I will be so glad when this humidity breaks.

One last little bit today to finish out the month and rest before my first ever timed race tomorrow. :)

    7/31 1.75 @ 12.00 for

    106/100 miles for July!

Did take a rest day today and so glad I did - it was another hot and humid one! I am hoping tomorrow will be better and I can get a good long run in for the first run in August!
@RunTimer - great view of Alcatraz! You should have joined us for the 1st half of the SF marathon! It was a wonderful run... well except for those hills at the end... :)

My goal was 40 at my last report I was half mile short. Squeezed in couple more to finish month out with 42. I know this is not much compared to a lot of y'all's outstanding runs but it is a big deal for me. Thanks for joining me on my journey and congrats to all other participants!

I'm in (a few days late!)... Training for another half marathon this fall and running some shorter races in the meantime. I ran ~90 miles in June, so I'm aiming to top that this month--let's say 100 miles. I've done ~23.5 so far in July!

4 miles yesterday and 6.25 today, and I'm up to 33.75! It's been so hot and humid here in Boston--my pace is really suffering.
A week slipped by somehow... I did get some runs in though:
    7/9 4.2 miles
    7/10 rest
7/11 lacrosse tournament with my son--no running, but 15000 steps!
    7/12 same as 7/11
    7/13 7.1 miles
    7/14 4.1 miles
    7/15 5.1 miles
    7/16 4.1 miles

for a grand total of 58.35 miles.

And... another 2 weeks slipped by and July is now done... On the upside, I spent much of that 2 weeks running because my total for the month was 124.8 miles! Not sure I'm planning on setting an even high goal for August as I have a week of vacation planned (I'm taking my running shoes, but will only run 3-4 times that week).
