Low fat - High calorie foods?

Hey everyone!
I was hoping someone could recommend me some low fat, high calorie foods?
Ive been using MFP for a week now, and have not met my calorie goal even once. I dont know why, but as soon as I start eating healthy, I just cant meet my calories. Yesterday, I had about 500 left after dinner (I did work out)! So I just end up resorting to something unhealthy to at least get to 1000-1200 calories for that day. I mean, I wanna loose some weight, but not like this obviously...
So, any tips would be great!

Why would you want it to be low fat? The foods people recommend you for hitting your calorie goals more easily are probably going to be higher in fat and/or carbs, as protein is usually what's going to make you feel more full.0

I asked for low fat because I do usually meet or somewhat exceed my fat goals0 -
Oatmeal, pasta, raisins.
What did you eat that was unhealthy but fit into your macro and calorie goals?0 -

Are you sure you are logging accurately?0 -
I used to bug out about being in the red for fat just about every day but since despite this I am consistently eating at a calorie deficit and losing weight, I let it go.0

Ah ok. Personally I would worry about hitting the calorie goal first then adjust to get the fat amount where you want it. What specifically do you mean when you say "unhealthy". There's plenty of options for high carb foods that will help you hit your calorie goal quickly.
Also could you make your Diary set to Public in your settings? This will help us help you.0 -
Fat has 9 calories per gram, carbs and protein have 4 calories per gram, so if you cut fat you will cut calories.
Starchy carbs are often perceived as not that filling for the calories (pasta and bread and rice and cereal, I guess), but I'm not really sure what the benefit of this switch would be. Do you have some medical reason to cut fat super low? If not I'd say include a little more fat.0 -

I agree with this ^^
I treat carbs the same way as well.0 -

Hmm, the things that make me meet the fat goals are usually the peanutbutter and cracker I eat every morning, and I have a 1 or 2 egg omelette daily.
As for the evening snack, I had lightly salted popcorn and some chocolate.

I think so. I scan and weigh almost everything I eat... The deficit is usually 300-200cal though, not 500! (Sorry if that was confusing)0 -

If you're eating peanut butter and crackers, that's at least 200 calories right there (if you're only having 15g/1tbsp of peanut butter and one serving of crackers.) Just the eggs in the omelette are about 150 (and that's before milk, cheese, other toppings, cooking oil...) A serving of popcorn is likely in the 200 range as well even with no butter or anything. Chocolate is about 70 calories per 12-15 grams, which is only a couple squares (most small bars are more like 240 calories.) Just adding those up is almost 700 calories and it's not including a lunch or dinner, so I don't think you should be having trouble reaching a 1200 goal.0 -
You might find some ideas here, though the list includes a lot of high fat foods, so you'll need to pick and choose what fits into your goals: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10142490/a-list-of-calorie-dense-foods0

Unhealthy would be popcorn and chocolate.
I just changed my settings, hopefully that will help!

Nope! Im just going by what MFP tells me.. Which seems to be that Im eating enough fata, but lacking calories. Although from what people have commented here, maybe I shouldn't worry as much about fat and more about meeting my calorie goal.

Chocolate = praline (is that a word in English as well?), sorry fur being unclear!
I thought popcorn would be unhealthy since its lightly salted, but if not, you just made my day!

Yeah as far as popcorn and chocolate go, the problems people would normally have with these foods is:
1) They eat them but they aren't super filling so they go and eat 2000 more calories.
2) They eat only those foods and aren't getting enough protein/fat(which you say you've got enough of)/nutrients.
No reason to cut them out completely, especially in your case. I haven't delved too deep into your diary but my initial suggestion would be to look at things like diannethegeek's link to find food that will help you hit calorie amounts and supply needed nutrients and not worry so much about the fat count being red.0 -
Praline is also a word in English but, in my experience, it's associated more, though not exclusively, with caramel-type candies than chocolate.
Unless you have a medical issue, lightly salted popcorn shouldn't be an issue.0 -

Thank you so much! Will check it out right away!0 -
Salt is necessary for organ function and staying alive in general. Some salt sprinkled on popcorn is in no way unhealthy.0

The chocolate and popcorn were only evening snacks on days I had a significant deficit, to make up for the missing calories. So yes, if I eat those, then I'm meeting my goals. However, I was hoping to find some alternatives through this tread, necause I dont want to eat chocolate and popcorn everyday, obviously . And then there's the calories I lose by exercising, which are about 400 on average.

Thank you for your advice! I will be paying a little less attention to fat, and a little more to calories then! And good to know I can still have my snacks once in a while, hahaha0 -
Fat goals are a minimum so I wouldn't sweat it0
-
What is a food you really like to eat but feel that it is off limits?
At the end of the day, fill your calorie allotment with those foods. As long as you are keeping your caloric deficit and hitting basic nutritional requirements (enough protein and healthy fats) the filler calores can come from whatever you want.0 -
Popcorn isn't unhealthy. Light salt and a little drizzle of butter makes it tasty and still within a good calorie range for a snack. Might look at nuts like cashews too. Not sure of the fat content, but cashews are majorly packed with calories, so that would be a quick way to add a bit more if you're short. Honestly, if you're getting the nutrition you need from what you normally eat but still need to add some calories, having a "junk food" snack is fine. I usually end up drinking a can of soda if I'm really short for the day, which usually happens on days I walk. Though, tonight I have rum cake. XD0

Have some bacon. Fat is satisfying and not bad for you.0

Luckily, I just bought some cashews! And rum cake sounds so good right now

Thank you so much everyone for your quick and helpful responses!
What I've learned today:- I should be more focussed on meeting my calorie goald than about fats
- Fat is not evil
- You can eat fats while losing weight (*gasp*)
- Not all the snacks I like are unhealthy or mess up my goals
Somehow I got it in my head that I should avoid fats as much as I can, or at least by no means exceed the MFP goals, because I thought I wouldn't loose weight if I did. But I guess it should be alright, as long as I also keep exercising!
Thank you all soooo much for helping this total noob out. Cant wait to snack on some cashews tonight0 -
