    My husband has a 12 y.o. from a previous relationship and we have her most weekends (sometime overnight, sometimes for the day) but for all intents and purposes, we are DINKS. Dont have kids between us, dont plan to have them. 2 cats who are spoiled, will have dogs when we have a house that can accommodate.

    Many of our friends are still child free (at our age, most people have little ones, not almost- teens), so we still manage to get out a fair bit. To be honest, we're the boring ones, we love our weekends on the couch with video games and a few beers!

    I think pets are not only cuter but better behaved!... Thats just my thoughts.... lol
