Popcorn spices

I have been bringing unbuttered popcorn with me to work for a snack. I started out adding cajun seasoning which was pretty good. This weekend I used allspice which was just OK. Any suggestions for other spices to try?

rosemary, garlic powder, and paprika0

Chili powder and cumin 50/50 makes a wonderful seasoning. I also like the Cajun spice or Brown sugar and cinnamon.0

I go sweet for my popcorn. Stevia, cinnamon and a pinch of salt.0

Furikake (aka hurricane popcorn): https://chinesegrandma.com/2013/03/hurricane-popcorn/ It's sesame seeds, roasted seaweed (aka nori), salt and sugar.
I also like curry powder, Old Bay Seasoning, garlic salt, or black pepper.0 -

taco seasoning. I also put cholula chipotle hot sauce right on it. I know it's weird because it's wet but I don't care.0

I usually don't go with wet because I work a 24 hour shift and don't eat it until the back half.0

Oh yeah. Well you'd have to bring the bottle. But really I don't suggest it to anyone unless it sounds interesting to you haha. It's one of those weird things I've mixed together since I started losing weight. Like tonight, bbq sauce and cottage cheese...wtf?0 -

I could imagine that being good.0 -
I second Lawrys seasoning salt - best popcorn topping ever0

Bragg Liquid Aminos - a few sprays of this, to make a mix of onion powder, garlic powder and nutritional yeast stick.
Or just Bragg Liquid Aminos on its own - it's gorgeous.0 -

That reminds me. I love brewers yeast on popcorn—but not nooch (nutritional yeast).0 -

It's what people in New Orleans use to spice up their foods.
Sold at walmart.
Amazing stuff.

This really great cajun seasoning. Me and my husband are cajun and this stuff blows Tony's out of the water. We put this on fish, chicken, veggies, and can also be put on popcorn.0 -
By the way New Orleans isn't cajun its creole. They can cook cajun stuff in New Orleans but it is known for Creole cooking people often get it confused. Lafayette and the surrounding area's are cajun country. Tony Chachere's is made in Opelousas, LA, a town about 10 miles from Lafayette.0

I've been bringing air popped popcorn to work as an afternoon snack too, OP!
So this won't work for us in that regard, but I saw Giada make this pizza popcorn on her show this weekend. I'm not sure how I feel about it. She put butter, garlic & sundried tomatoes in the food processor, then melted it on the stovetop & poured it over her popcorn. Then she topped it with parmesan & a sprinkle of oregano. I don't like raw garlic much, so it would have to simmer a little bit. It sounds good, but also like a lot of work when just melted butter is yummy enough.

Ermahgerd, sour cream & onion. I've only ever seen the butter & maybe the cheddar in stores. Shut up and take my money.0 -

I make pop corn the old school way.. on the stove top. I put about 2 tbls of oil in a sauce pan and season the oil. Then, put in about 1/4 cup of pop corn. The pop corn gets seasoned as I shake the pan in the oil while it pops. Every kernel gets seasoned this way. And you don't have to worry about the seasoning falling off!0

I use a microwave bowl with a little bit of oil (1-2 teaspoons). Adding moisture to the corn helps the seasoning stick.
I find that air popped corn typically has to be sprayed with something to get the seasonings to stick. Butter flavored Pam adds a nasty aerosol flavor....I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray (refrigerated section) tastes more natural to me.0 -
I like to add some garam masala to mine.0
