When you don't want to cook......what do you have to eat?

I eat 100% food when I don't feel like cooking or packing a lunch or am on the go. Just add water. I have celiac and am slightly lactose intolerant, so a lot of "easy" foods are not an option.
Also, I HATE cooking and food prep in general. So pre-prepping just isn't something I want to do.0 -
Tuna with a little bit of mayo,cheese and pepperoni, a smoothie (with frozen berries, almond milk, spinach, protein powder), pizza! I usually have cooked protein in my freezer that are in individual proportioned bags so I can just heat those up and add some veg.0

Whenever I make chili, soup, or curry, I make 6 servings, then freeze the 4 servings leftover after my husband and I eat, so there is usually something like that in the freezer at any given time.
I also found a meal delivery service that does a la carte orders, so I buy about 6-10 entrees each month and put them in the freezer for nights when I want an easy hot meal that isn't leftovers.
The other day for lunch I had a box of frozen seasoned veggies and a cup of frozen soybeans heated in the microwave. It wasn't gourmet, but it got the job done.
If I'm feeling too tired or too lazy to even defrost and heat something in the microwave, cereal, clif bars, watermelon or PB&J are on the menu.0 -
I cook a lot of meals at once to avoid this problem, but if I want something else, I'll usually just pick something up from a restaurant.0

I cook dinner every night for myself, my fiancee, and our roommates. I usually make way more than enough, specifically so that there's leftovers for everyone to have lunch the next day.0

I love to warm up frozen broccoli in the microwave if I don't wanna cook. And often I just munch on raw veggies...0

I food prep so have always at least 4 different meals in the freezer that can be defrosted and warmed up, plus various frozen proteins that can be defrosted and served with veg. In my fridge I got skyr and quark which I mix with fresh berries for a low calorie high protein quick fix if I am starving0

I'm usually cooking for just me, so I don't do the big "proper meal" thing too often. My meals, especially during the work week, are usually something like...
Sandwiches (turkey, tuna salad, egg, roast beef, etc.) loaded with fresh veggies (usually tomato, cucumber, mushrooms, onion, romaine or spinach) on sprouted grain bread, and some fresh fruit;
A turkey or chicken salad with a little cheese and lots of fresh veggies, or
Heat up some beans or lentils made on the weekend and add stuff to it like chopped veggies, grated brussel sprouts or cabbage, pepita seeds, raisins, turkey, turkey meatballs from the freezer, etc.
Omelet with spinach, mushroom and cheese;
Snack plate of things like turkey, cheese, crackers, Sun, sweet potato or beet chips, raw veggies (I love raw asparagus, english cucumber, celery, red bell pepper) with hummus, tzatziki or Baba ghanoush, halved dried apricots with a little ricotta, olives, picked garlic, hardboiled eggs, etc.
Oatmeal with a little butter, raisins or other dried fruit, walnuts or pecans, and a little milk.
Plain greek yogurt with pumpkin seed granola, fresh fruit and a little honey.0 -
I always have to cook. The easiest things not to fuss with are either eggs, cottage cheese with pumpkin, or yogurt and fruit.
My quickest meal is microwaved broccoli crowns (it's so quick to prep them) and Beyond Meat chicken-less strips.0 -
i'll do a salad which is more 'assembly' then cooking, or i make a meal out of snacks- fruit, nuts, cheese, etc0

I'll either make a tuna melt or a protein shake most of the time0

Peanut butter and jelly sandwich or any sandwich really.
Pepperoni and mozzerella rolled up in a flour tortilla
Tater tots
Cream of chicken and rice (only requires cooking some rice)
I only consider it "cooking" if it takes more than 15 minutes to end up on my plate.

Taco Bell. I know it's awful for you and full of really gross chemicals, but it's the one fast food place I will still eat other than Subway. I get three regular tacos with crunchy shells. They're not too bad calories-wise and they fill me up.0

Costco rotisserie chicken with Taylor Asian cashew salad. It's amazing how easy dinner is with the chicken.0

But most things I cook aren't some 3 hour event, normally about as difficult as 2 minute noodles.
If I am hungry and can't boil water, pour lentils in and stir every now and then for 10 mins there is seriously something wrong with me.0 -
Hummus, onion dip made with fat free greek yogurt, raw veggies or, if I'm lucky, I have roasted veggies in the fridge that just need a small warm up in the microwave!0

I sometimes find that I wind up doing more than I thought I would once I get started, because my fast alternative is too depressing, and because I hate wasting food.
I was going to dump jarred tomato sauce over some spaghetti tonight, but remembered I had some leftover smoked salmon. Which brought to mind some shrimp I had in the freezer. And I realized that that would just be way better with plain butter & garlic than it would with my gross emergency tomato sauce. So I reached for those in the fridge, where I saw some spinach and cherry tomatoes, so those went in, along with a couple of spoonfuls of Greek yogurt at the end (for protein & bc why not, it's kind of like a white sauce), and it was much better than my first plan would have been.
That assumes I have some marginal reserve of energy, though - when I'm totally beat, it's def sandwiches, or yeah, takeout.0 -
