Am I too muscular?

So I can see the picture- no. you aren't muscular. you're lean- but you aren't particularly muscular. Unless you're training for an endurance event I would suggest lifting more and running less. But that is my completely bias- I'm a total meat head- kind of opinion.0

A: Not hardly.
B: 1 regular at my gym called me a "beast" and another said I looked "jacked." I think both were compliments.0 -
No. He probably wants to bang.0

I have a rather similar build and wouldn't consider myself muscular but I get comments like this all the time. It makes me uncomfortable and upset...so I totally understand why you wouldn't take it as a compliment. I am actually only doing body weight exercises with the hopes that I will look less "muscle-y"
FWIW, I think you look great! (But completely get how these kinds of comments can get to you)0 -
You certainly aren't too muscular. You might have some muscle definition but you aren't muscular. If you want to be muscular you need to do more lifting and less cardio, and eat in a surplus. If you aren't doing any of that, you have nothing to worry about.0

Girl take it as a compliment. I'd kill for a body like yours. No, you're not big in any way or shape. If you like what you see, keep going.0
-
Nope. Not even close.
Keep lifting OP.0 -
Hell no. You look great0

Tuesdays: chest and shoulders
Thursdays: Legs
Saturdays: Biceps and Triceps
Sundays: Back and abs
I also am an avid runner. Monday and Wednesday are my long cardio days, and on lift days I will generally run 2-3 miles before my lift as well.
My coworker just came up to me and said "Damn, Jess! Looking swoll over there. You're getting big". I'm not sure how to take this. Does he mean that I am gaining weight? Am I too muscular and should lay off the weights for a while? It made me really self conscious and am kind of embarrassed now.
What do you think?
You look great, not big at all. Ignore your co-worker.0 -
look fine to me. You must remember some men aren't very good at articulating compliments. And at the end of the day - do you really give a *kitten* what a co-worker says? Unless you have a 'thing' for him and want him to like you? You gotta feel good about yourself and not give a toss about what others say. If you feel good - you look good! If it was a girl i'd say she was jealous. seeing as it was a guy - badly worded compliment.0

You look good to me.0

ummmm...no...and your split could use some work0

Thank you everyone, that makes me feel better. Ended up going to the gym today and getting a good chest pump in today!0

why would you be upset if someone thought you looked strong?0 -
He was teasing you.0

With ninerbuff on this, you look average in terms of lean mass for a female. Take what your co-worker said as a compliment. I think you look great, fit healthy and happy0

this!!!!!!!0 -
... Hold on. Why are you going to the gym? To make yourself feel better or to impress your co-workers? If it's the latter you're doing it for the wrong reasons.0

I fully understand what the OP means.
No woman wants to hear that they're getting "big"!
But i do think your co-worker meant it in a complimentary way, as you are very slim & healthy looking.

I think he was acknowledging that your hard work at the gym is really beginning to show and it was totally meant as a compliment. Yes, he used "bro" language but hey when a guy uses language that is the same as he would use with a guy it just means he knows you are working as hard and it shows. He doesn't actual think you look like a dude (unless dudes look very different in your part of the woods). If he says you look even stronger in a few months this will be due to progress on your part not rudeness on his part. Of course, if starts flicking you in the *kitten* with a twisted up towel stop him - treating you like a bro does need boundaries0

I think your muscles are about normal. But it's a bit hard to tell though. You're flexing in the one pic and nobody wants around flexing all the time.0

Is this real life?0

Not true. I know a lot of women who would love to hear that.
OP you look young, fit and beautiful. Do you like lifting? Do you like feeling strong? Do you like seeing some visible muscle? If you can answer yes to any of these question then who the heck cares what anyone else thinks? I wasted so much time in my teens and twenties caring about the opinion of others, it makes me sad to see other women doing the same. You do you and you can't go wrong.

He was trying to compliment you. You're reading too much into it, and you sound like you're fishing for compliments.0
-
Hell no! You're looking great!0

Make your bed!!!
Someone had to say it...
Please carry on.0 -
You guys really need to consider the context. The OP lives in Ethiopia.0
