No, but I'm not 100% certain which song I was after now. Duh. I flipped around to see what was on different iHeart stations and saw it.

    It's Cold Out Tonight

That might be the one, but I don't think I remember that song. It sounds pretty good though.

This sounds really good!!! Never heard it before. I have their greatest hits. This is not on it.

If you like this, you should really give a listen to a band I know I've told you about before (DAKOTA).

Click on the song link to hear the whole album. Really good. You could probably parallel their sound to a lot of bands.

And this is the same band under a different name (JERRY-KELLY BAND). Another stellar album that flew under the top 40 radar of the '70s.

If you want to hear something new and fresh (because you haven't heard it before) with a sound I know you like, put these two albums on.

    Venus and Mars

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've listened to some Dakota in the past. I did a search on Wikipedia for "Dakota (band)" and it took me to some disambiguation page. Then "Dakota (American Band)" found it with no issues. Not sure what's up with that.

You stumped me. I didn't have a clue. I had to ask Copilot.

I Love is what it came up with.

    deckerp Posts: 4,933 Member

That's the one. It was more of a country song, but it was a crossover hit too.

I remember the song, just didn't remember the line.

Dickie Goodman + long gas lines in the '70s =

I remember this being out but couldn't come up with the name. I could only think of Mr. Jaws and The Watergate Comedy Hour (not Dickie Goodman).

Discography showed me The Energy Crisis '74.

I have The Watergate Comedy Hour album. And the Mr. Jaws 45

    Energy Crisis '74 is correct.

That's one of the earliest novelty records I remember, along with Convention '72.

I know Johnny Weissmuller was an Olympic swimmer and played Tarzan.

Casey Kasem once shared a story on American Top 40 about Johnny Weissmuller—Olympic gold medalist and iconic Tarzan actor—teaching a young singer to swim. The singer in question was none other than Andy Williams. According to Kasem’s anecdote, Weissmuller gave Williams swimming lessons at the Beverly Hills Hotel pool when Andy was just a teenager.

It’s one of those charming cross-generational Hollywood tales: the jungle hero helping a future crooner stay afloat—literally.

We listened to a couple Ray Stevens albums over and over and over when I was young. Once my wife and I took a trip to Branson, MO. On the way back we were listening to a Greatest Hits on CD. We both were laughing so hard we were crying and almost had to pull off. The song was The Ballad of the Blue Cyclone. Give it a listen.

Firefall + Benedict Cumberbatch = [song]

Ray Stevens is a pretty funny guy. Never heard that one before.

Don't know Benedict Cumberbatch. Best match I could come up with is Strange Way.

    Strange Way is correct.

Warm up a bit with some Gitarzan and The Streak but then listen to The Ballad of the Blue Cycle.
