I made it back to the pool for the first time since a chest infection meant holding my breath was not such a good thing. I get very annoyed with our pool - it's enormous, but sections are always closed off for swimming clubs, forgetting that a large proportion of the world are adults who just want to swim in a bit of space (I'm all for teaching people to swim but what about the rest of us?). We had two lanes for 12-15 people to swim in. All accompanied to the tune of the William Tell Overture and vibrations through the pool floor from the synchronised swimming training going on in the rest of the pool… Let me just say that that particular piece of music is no good for swimming to, the rhythm is all wrong (far more suited to horse racing as anyone in the UK will testify to)
I also was testing a new TomTom multi-sports watch that I got for my birthday, which was being mean on giving me lengths – at one point it gave me only 1 length when I’d clearly done 3!!! So I am recording the 32 lengths it says I did, knowing that there were almost certainly more. I’ll have to go back to counting….

Oct 17 - 100.15 km (340 min) cycling. Very, very, very windy ride. Wind gusting up to 94 km/h. Rather alarming a few times. Fortunately there were short segments of tailwind, but most of the time we were battling cross or head winds. Plus hills - approx. 1000 metres of climbing.
Oct 18 - 3.7 km (45 min) walking. Mostly on the beach. We needed a break after the efforts of Saturday.

@jeanniewes, I sure hope you guys don't have a cold winter. I know you hate the cold. I don't mind it so much but our cold is so much milder than yours. We rarely see freezing temps. And I think my teenagers have seen snow twice, maybe 3 times ever!

Where we live there is our mountain, a valley and another mountain. That mountain had temp of 29! NOW THAT'S COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so ready for summer! lol...I know, I know i'm a HUGE DREAMER...
Today my husband's great niece and nephew came too make cookies and watch a movie. They are ages 8 and 11. Husband had too work. I needed that as this was a rough day starting out. They helped fill my day. After movie we walked 3.0 miles. Well they walked 2.5 and I did the rest...lol

Oct 17 - 100.15 km (340 min) cycling. Very, very, very windy ride. Wind gusting up to 94 km/h. Rather alarming a few times. Fortunately there were short segments of tailwind, but most of the time we were battling cross or head winds. Plus hills - approx. 1000 metres of climbing.
Oct 18 - 3.7 km (45 min) walking. Mostly on the beach. We needed a break after the efforts of Saturday.
