Is it just me....or...have we gotten out of hand with the blenders recently?? I mean...Ninja makes like 5 different blenders..that I think all do the same thing..BLEND! Have the ol magic bullet which when pressed down in quick bursts it also does something..BLEND..We also have what is called a Blender...this one also when activated starts a blending motion....I think whatever one can break down my ice for a tasty margarita the quickest gets my vote!

But there are so many dollars to be made...0 -
Personally, I like my $20 Hamilton Beach blender from Bed Beth & Beyond! It does just what I need it to ...make my smoothie every morning!0
-
Raise the roof for the hamilton beach! I have the same one. And it blends stuff to like nothing!!! So then when I read that some of these emulsify...I am like..WOAH..does that mean I will put it into my mouth and it just dissolves into my cheeks?????0

I feel sad when I see people blending crap up and juicing for no reason. I have patients that would kill to be able to eat again. They would give their left arm to enjoy something solid.0 -
Uh oh...you know what you've just done!!! Wait till a passionate juicer clicks on this thread...prepare yourself for battle missy0
-
Well you know most of those are marketing ploys. "Introducing the Nutribullet." "Introducing the Nutribullet RX." "Introducing the Nutribullet..." repeats every year. And they try to sucker you in with these fascinating things it can do. "Extract Nutrients" versus just eating the nutrients. I'm sure the $20 Hamilton Beach will do the trick just as good.0
-
Oh yeah!!! I saw that RX one...where it will connect wirelessly to your family practitioner and submit your prescriptions...I mean that could be useful. My hamilton beach does not do that...I think...I'll double check today.0

hahahaha...it sounds dangerous!!!! I saw it on a box and was like Holy Moly am I even qualified to deal with that sort of thing????0

Hahaha. Oops.
I just don't know why I need a blender that does anything other than make a margarita. I don't need a blender that promises to purée EVERYTHING. I like to chew my steak.0 -
That's not a blender.
This is a blender.

I think the red one has more buttons though!!! and buttons are a big deal...I am not so big on the dial...look at it there...being all overly confident.0

I have a vitamix and I like to think it has mini lawn mower engine!! Margaritas FTW!!0 -

I love my Vitamix. I burned through two of those cheap HB ones in two years. Definately cheaper in the long run to invest in a quality product. Plus mine makes soup.0 -
I have a ninja .... I love it ...and the best part was it was on sale0
-
HEY! I made soup last night actually and guess what I used...yep...you nailed it..I used my hands!!! ....wait I also used a knife...and various other chopping tools.0

I'm so torn. I want a Vitamix but....my stove top makes soup too, for a lot less money! First world problems.0 -
By stove top...you do mean like...oven right..you are just referring to the top of it?? Just want to make sure we have the same thing and I am not missing out on something...0

If my husband had his way, we'd have a Blendtec. Because you always need to be able to blend iPhones, hockey sticks, computers and magnets.0
-
Right??? What are they doing!!! It does blend it down pretty good though...But at the same time...I am like hey...I want that hockey stick...Eff you Blendtec guy in your cool labcoat.0

I cannot be without my immersion blender. It chops, blends, whips cream, smooths out soups, and I use it to make my homemade cold cream, lotion, and hair conditioner. Other than that, I have an old Osterizer that I break out once or twice a summer for a daiquiri.

Did you just casually throw in hair conditioner there to see if we'd catch it????0
-
I don't have a blender. *shrugs* We do have a basic food processor for when I feel like making smoothies. I used to have a blender but stuff kept getting stuck in it and I can't afford the fancy ones either. So when it broke I threw it out and didn't replace it. I get better results by far with the food processor.0
-
Food processor!!! I forgot about that one. I have a chopper!...Noooo not a bike...it chops veggies and such and makes a mean salsa.0

I wonder why your avatar reminds me of this...

Is that the thing you smack around (like hit it on the top to chop things) ....like on the commerical ? Pictures Ilovecereal smacking the top of his chopper LOL LOL LOL0

ilovecereal1982 wrote: »Did you just casually throw in hair conditioner there to see if we'd catch it????
Nope. I use my blender more to make hair conditioner than anything else. I am allergic to the formaldehyde that is in many commercial personal care products so I make my own. I make a batch about once a month because I need to make it without preservatives.
