Is it just me....or...have we gotten out of hand with the blenders recently?? I mean...Ninja makes like 5 different blenders..that I think all do the same thing..BLEND! Have the ol magic bullet which when pressed down in quick bursts it also does something..BLEND..We also have what is called a Blender...this one also when activated starts a blending motion....I think whatever one can break down my ice for a tasty margarita the quickest gets my vote!

Personally, I like my $20 Hamilton Beach blender from Bed Beth & Beyond! It does just what I need it to ...make my smoothie every morning!

Raise the roof for the hamilton beach! I have the same one. And it blends stuff to like nothing!!! So then when I read that some of these emulsify...I am like..WOAH..does that mean I will put it into my mouth and it just dissolves into my cheeks?????

I feel sad when I see people blending crap up and juicing for no reason. I have patients that would kill to be able to eat again. They would give their left arm to enjoy something solid.

Well you know most of those are marketing ploys. "Introducing the Nutribullet." "Introducing the Nutribullet RX." "Introducing the Nutribullet..." repeats every year. And they try to sucker you in with these fascinating things it can do. "Extract Nutrients" versus just eating the nutrients. I'm sure the $20 Hamilton Beach will do the trick just as good.

Oh yeah!!! I saw that RX one...where it will connect wirelessly to your family practitioner and submit your prescriptions...I mean that could be useful. My hamilton beach does not do that...I think...I'll double check today.

    Hahaha. Oops.

I just don't know why I need a blender that does anything other than make a margarita. I don't need a blender that promises to purée EVERYTHING. I like to chew my steak.

I love my Vitamix. I burned through two of those cheap HB ones in two years. Definately cheaper in the long run to invest in a quality product. Plus mine makes soup.

I'm so torn. I want a Vitamix but....my stove top makes soup too, for a lot less money! First world problems.

If my husband had his way, we'd have a Blendtec. Because you always need to be able to blend iPhones, hockey sticks, computers and magnets.

I cannot be without my immersion blender. It chops, blends, whips cream, smooths out soups, and I use it to make my homemade cold cream, lotion, and hair conditioner. Other than that, I have an old Osterizer that I break out once or twice a summer for a daiquiri.

Did you just casually throw in hair conditioner there to see if we'd catch it????

I don't have a blender. *shrugs* We do have a basic food processor for when I feel like making smoothies. I used to have a blender but stuff kept getting stuck in it and I can't afford the fancy ones either. So when it broke I threw it out and didn't replace it. I get better results by far with the food processor.

Food processor!!! I forgot about that one. I have a chopper!...Noooo not a bike...it chops veggies and such and makes a mean salsa.

Nope. I use my blender more to make hair conditioner than anything else. I am allergic to the formaldehyde that is in many commercial personal care products so I make my own. I make a batch about once a month because I need to make it without preservatives.
