Well, I did end up doing some walking: 13905 steps, 6.2 miles... walking to brunch & all around Mt Vernon. AND I biked 23.4 miles from Alexandria to Mt Vernon & back. Gorgeous day to be near the Potomac. Perfect last day of my vacation. Flying home tomorrow! Here's a shot of Mt Vernon. pmgi9pn0anf2.jpeg

    Very cool!
My Dad toured in Europe, literally, packed the whole family in a van while on leave and off to who knows where.
I was to little to see out the window, and every couple of days was a new place. He would show up when it was dark, and then we slept. Woke up the next morning outside the tent or van to a brand new place every couple days.
    I've always loved traveling.
    Hope you enjoyed your trip.

That is a great story blackdawn! Yes, I love to travel too. We never traveled: I had a single teen mum & she took care of my grandmother who was schizophrenic, so there was no time...no money...no help...you can imagine, and for me travel became the cornerstone of a fabulous grown-up life free from all that terrible responsibility. I've traveled less in recent years because of bills, work, saving but when I get the chance I always feel so exhilarated by it. It is such a great feeling to wake up in a new and tantalizing place, isn't it?

:) I carry my Omron pedometer with me all the time so this is all my walking for each day.

Just sort of jumping in here, but I am an avid walker. *cheer*

Got in a 2 mile walk during lunch at work today. Such a beautiful October day, I just can't get enough. Would have kept walking if it weren't for work.

I didn't feel up to it today, but I did it! I know I won't see results if I only go on the days I feel like it.

    I don't count steps
That's pretty much how I log my miles as well. I use mapmywalk to keep track of my miles. Google Fit also keeps track of my steps but I just don't really pay that much attention to the number of steps in a day.

Today was the day to get back on the horse. A party on Saturday, football on Sunday and Monday was a grocery day. It's rare for me to go three days without getting any real walking in, so I was ready to go today. Ended up a shade over 9 miles.

Well, I'm knackered! Just drove myself home from SFO to Sonoma County. Getting to & from Reagan DCA sure was more convenient. Walked 14450 steps, about 6.8 miles.
Blackdawn: I went to the postal museum in DC this a.m. specifically to see this dog Owney who travelled all over the country on mail trains in the 1880/1890s. I think he's our spirit animal! Hahahakntk0z7210a1.jpeg
