20051 steps today; 8.6 mi. Subbed in a medically fragile class so i got out with a few kids in wheelchairs for some walks around campus. Walked a pretty creek path near that school site after school was dismissed. Even fit in a TRX class on top of the walking. Boy, that's a work out!0

Good walking everyone. Walked four and a half miles yesterday. Didn't have much time this morning but still got in two and a half before work. I am loving it and so is my dog!0

I had gone into work early yesterday, so that meant getting done earlier this morning and I really wanted to get my workout in right after work. But, it was raining and the forecast said it was supposed to stop by mid-afternoon, so I just planned on getting up earlier. Which I did. There was a chance of rain (like 30%) for tonight and I got six miles down the trail and then the chance of rain became 100%. A wind-driven, cold, soaking October rain the entire way back, so I was drenched. But, I got the 12 miles in that I was shooting for today. I made sure to treat myself to some ice cream when I got back, so all was not lost0

Congrats on your walking and dancing....sorry to hear about your friend you're right that walking is good for low spirits....when my husband was in the hospital and I was home with the dogs, we walked more than we ever walked because walking seemed to calm me down.0 -

Hi Everyone, I have been with myfitnesspal it seems like forever now. I don't really venture out into the forums much but I did today and found this challenge. I don't have totals for October but, I have walked almost everyday. Tuesday, I went to Seattle with my Sister and we walked all over, oh yeah, did I mention, Seattle is very "hilly"....LOL, Well I hope there is going to be a November challenge I can get in on. I use this challenge in two ways:
first to challenge myself to do better and be active every day
second to share with like minded people and cheer them on with their personal challenge
I don't try to do better than anyone else, I just try to improve myself.

@scolaris I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I am with Barbie on this, walking is so awesome. It gets you out with nature and away from all the noise (and if you do it on a treadmill you get to escape with your music for just a bit) I think for the most part that is lost on today's society where we are able to escape for all the chaos and just relax. Oh and awesome job on the steps and mileage. I will be more on top of things once November hits. I have been out of commission for the past few days.

Ok back in to check in....I did couch to 5k at the gym on the treadmill today (walking and running...I had such a blast it was so fun) so that was 3.06 km and I took the chocolate guy for a walk this afternoon (he was naughty, kept pulling at the leash when all I wanted to do was stroll lol) and that clocked in at 3.48 km.0
