Great to quench your thirst. There's no magic in weight loss. Eat less and move more.0

Try not to feel bad. One of the first things you have to do when trying to lose weight is sort through the nonsense, which can be done by asking questions. However, you have to be open to responses from experienced people. When someone (or a majority of someones) says that green tea doesn't help for weight loss, it's because it doesn't. It's not an attack or an insult.0 -
A friend of mine and my husband told me to switch to drinking to green tea from black tea because it helps with weight loss. So I went to googling and nope no weight loss help. However tea and coffee do have their perks health wise also some negative. Green tea lessens the absorption of folic acid and iron. So you shouldn't drink it with meals. Both green tea and black tea have the same amount of polythenols. Don't drink the bottled kind they aren't very good for you because they add all kinds of stuff. Make it home brewed so you can control what goes into it. I read multiple articles to make sure one just wasn't full of BS.0

OP.
On quite a few of your posts, you are incredible defensive.
I've read through this entire thread and no one has jumped down your throat for asking a simple question. The way in which you respond to certain answers suggests that you're desperate to lose the weight and more intent on asking "How long did it take" than actually listening to what people are telling you. No, green tea doesn't help you lose weight. Nor does black coffee. Nothing 'boosts' weight loss, unfortunately.
I started off at 157 lbs (11 stone 3) in April 2015 and I am now in the 120's (8 stones). I did this by eating at a sensible calorie deficit - no black coffee. No Supplements. No 'quick fixes'. Hang in there and trust the process. People here are happy to help0 -
I don't know about the chemical fat loss part of it. It's possible. Green tea is pretty well established to have beneficial antioxidant effect. At the time I was losing at the best clip I was drinking a lot of it -- but I attribute that really to drinking a lot of it instead of eating.
With respect, I didn't interpret the OP as looking for a "shortcut" -- I think it was a pretty simple question. The answer is that it's *reported* to have some effect, though it's likely to be negligible on the margin. And certainly no-calorie drinks like black coffee, green tea and water are good subs for sugary beverages (or IMHO diet soda).0 -
I drink green tea every day but it definitely doesn't help with weight loss. CI<CO pretty simple........0
