Greetings folks. Just seen this and great idea for a thread.
I'll aim for 50 miles a month and hopefully do that and a bit more. Got my reject mag for next years London marathon today so forced my self out for a run.
1st October 6.2 miles.0 -
I'm in for 50km. Hoping the weather holds enough for me to do this and that I get a treadmill for Christmas so I don't have to worry about the weather anymore!!

I'm in for 90 miles this month. Just trying to ease it up and up gradually. Anyone on strava or fitbit feel free to follow me. And add on here of course happy running0

I'm training for my next half. I'll shoot for 90, too.

10/1 Starting strong with a long run 8.25 at just around 12:00 (the quarter was walking warm up/cool down)
It was truly a sad time on the dreadmill, though, because there was nothing on the tvs but stupid Donald Trump, the movie was dumb and had inadequate explosions, and my trusty old faithful ipod died. It is a rainy day outdoors and in my heart.

This sounds like an awesome idea. I run pretty much everyday. I'm going to go for 150? That may be pushing it but I'm gonna shoot for it. I'd rather push myself then hit my goal way too early.0

Week 5, day 2 complete of c25k0 -
7 cooler miles this morning with a friend. Took him up some CC trails in our usual running park, which was a good distraction from our usual more groomed trail loop. Hopefully I escaped unscathed from the poison ivy dotting the trail.

Total: 7 miles
Goal: 170 miles
Remaining: 163 miles0 -
@skippygirlsmom , @karllundy , @Ohhim Thanks all.. I think I will dress on the light side. Tentatively decided on shorts, tank and long sleeve shirt once I make sure I can thread it through my short loops... I may hit the discount store for a throw away. Great advice..0

Rainy. This felt really slow. Was surprised I hit such a low time for 4 miles. Wondering if one of my GPS or both were off. Never the less. Happy I got an extra mile in there!

Hi guys,
I really failed last month with my miles. Had a **** ton of injuries, but I'm back. I'll shoot for 100 this month.0 -
I'm new to this challenge and would love to join! I'm just going to track running miles, not walking. Aiming for 55 this month.

Another HM question, This one isn't trivial..
Looking up how to properly carb-load over the three days before a race, it is suggested that I consume 7-10g of carbs per kg of body weight. (125/2.2 means I'm about 57kg X 7 is about 400g of carbs each day=1600 calories). This suggestion is more than my total calorie allotment of 1450/day.
Runner's World suggested 85-90% of my calories come from healthy carbs... This puts me about 300g of carbs per day... Would this be the most appropriate approach?
Any experience?0 -

MFP October 2015 Running Challenge:
Fell short on my running goals last month but it was a great "fitness" month anyway. My goals were 48 miles and to break into 48 min range for a 5 mile run. So I am gonna set the same goals this month. Today I lengthened my lifting warm up run from a half mile to 1 mile. That along with 1 more day in October should bring me closer to my mileage goal. I am also gonna focus on picking up my pace for my time goal. We'll see what happens. I enjoy this challenge and reading everyone's posts and progress. Happy Running ya'll.
Goal:48 miles

10/1: 8 miles am and 6.2 pm with the Thursday crew
It stopped raining about 20 minutes before the group run started tonight. Talk about good luck! But now that the sun is setting so early, I've seriously got to invest in a headlamp and a reflective vest. Too many of the crew were far too hard to see (including me)! Dangerous!

Goal: 120 miles.

01/10 - 10.3km 02/10 - 13.1 miles tot 31.5/500km
as usual, the more concerned I feel before, the better I run after
went to the park, great run in the dark, this time I almost hit 3 trees (twice the same tree) and went into 2 bushes, but it was great fun
felt great, so in the end I run my second half in 5 days
I'm in a very good mood now, as mentioned before, I need to draw a line and establish how long will be my weekly runs (I already know I'll end up running half marathons, but between 20.1 and 21.2km there is less than 5 minutes, so why not?), but runs like these are pure energy before a boring and not exciting working day, plus the more I train the less the effort is
and I'll finally sleep tomorrow! 10k and then I'll prob stick with a 35k on Sunday, 2 weeks before Amsterdam so don't want to push too much
come on 5pm!0 -
Hello New runner here. I am aiming for 40km this month

I'm getting back to the group after a whole lot of life events kept me from being or running consistently.
I'm gonna go for 60 this month. Most of it will be the last couple of weeks before a HM in October. That may be an adventure. I was as diligent as my first one back in April. And I found that I'm not really good about running in the heat -so I struggled with my long runs until the temps cooled down in the last couple of weeks. I had big goals of dropping my time by 13 minutes. Now I'm just going to enjoy the race. (hopefully)0
