Movies Killed By Sequels

Which movies did you feel should've been left as they were and were 'killed' by the sequels, trilogies and more than followed after?

Star Wars. Technically those were prequels, but you know what I mean.

Legally Blonde. Bridget Jones' Diary. Bill and Ted.

    I did like Wayne's World 2 though...

(I have terrible taste in movies, apparently... )

Legally Blonde, yes! Surprised no one's mentioned Jurassic Park yet. The movie that would never die....That and most 'Disney Princess' movies<-should've left them at their classic originals.

    Caddyshack 2,

We have a winner folks. Absolutely positively horrible. OMG. Jackie Mason in place of Rodney Dangerfield?

Fast and Furious... They could have stopped at 2 honestly. They are all great movies but they are just getting very annoying now

The Highlander... "There can be only one". <They should have followed their own advice.

    Starship Troopers.

And what everyone else has already mentioned.

    Um, lessee here...
    • Police Academy (1 was great, 2 was marginal, rest were all downhill)
    • Star Wars (part 4-6, wonderful, part 1 was OK, 2 and 3 not so much)
    • Rocky (past III could've been left in gutter)
    • Highlander (... I have no words)
    • Karate Kid (after 2, including recent Jackie Chan version,... should've been 'Kung Fu Kid'.. HELLOOOO, China, not Japan!)
    • Star Trek (1 was the 'foot in the door', 2 was BEST by far, 3 was closure, 4-5 were... ugh, 6 was passing baton, 'Generations' was 'shoehorn', 'First Contact' was pretty good if you ignored the whole time paradox thingy, 'Insurrection'... I don't wanna talk about it.... yadda yadda...)
    • Starship Troopers (I'm in denial... only the first one exists! The rest are urban legend)

    Honorable mention:
    • Beastmaster was so horribly good, I actually liked the sequel (very 'on the nose') although it was unnecessary
  • Bucky83

Shrek (by the 4th one I was like, ugh)
Sex and the City movie (1 was enough)

Rocky 4 had the sexiest man who has ever walked this Earth in it. That alone makes it a movie that is worthy of being made.

Clearly I agree with Starship Troopers and Highlander and I'm so excited someone besides me likes the Beastmaster movies. However the TV show? That sucked.

RoboCop should have been left with the first. The second was just "ok", third was a turd.

    Ghostbusters 2 sucked.

    Exceptions to the rule:

Lethal Weapon 2 was as good, if not better than the first. 3 was okay.

Evil Dead 2 was good. It was almost like a sort of reboot. I liked aspects of it more than the first. Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness is like a completely different movie. It stands on its own, though not as good in ways, it seems unfair to even compare it to the others as it is so different.

Robocop!! All the subsequent sequels, tv series, animated show and those stupid made for tv movies really ****ed up the Robocop franchise!

I hope the latest reboot exonerates it somehow, although I'm not really holding my breath!! But we'll see!

The third Halloween...the one that didn't even have Michael Myers in it...what a waste. I liked the Rob Zombie remakes, though, but I consider them different since they are not like the original stories (the first one kinda, but def. not the second).
