I confess that I do not read any of that stuff.
Men seem to prefer more photos less words
Perhaps I should create a picture romance novel.....0 -
In the 90s, way before the ShadesOG series, Ann Rice wrote S&M erotica.
I knew men who actually read that and there's another S+M author from
the 70s men are knowing to collect but it is written as SciFi. Depends on how
it's packaged to intrigue men I guess.0 -

Are you going to be the star?
just plain'0 -
Books such as 50 Shades of Grey should be a must read requirement for all men! Just sayin' ... Woot! Woot! :drinker:
Woo hoo!
Don't take the book word for word so seriously! Grey is a great character. Flawed and beautiful.
there's a lot of reasons why women may enjoy reading this crap while also not wanting to be treated like that in real life. Some having to do with evolution. Some about fantasy about being irresistibly desirable to the one man you want (and it's not rape if it's someone you consent to being with). And I think it also has a lot to do with eliminating sexual shame in the interaction.... I was raised catholic so it makes perfect sense to me.
that being said, a guy reading these novels and thinking "this is what I should do to get some tail in real life" is probably going to end up in jail or shot.
Right??! It's fantasy! My point of saying men should read it is the passion, the fun and caring side to the character. Guess I should spell it out more clearly in the future. Sooo serious people!
And he is NOT caring. He's selfish, abusive and suffocating.0 -
I will have to admit that I have never read any of the major romance novels...
But, I have written a couple of short stories that are a cross between science fiction and romance... I had even written a poem about a beautiful tall blonde woman that I had a crush on for more than a year...0 -
I have not read much lately, but I have enjoyed the benefit of people reading some of the recent stuff.
I would suggest the Beauty series by Anne Rice (under an non de plum) . I read much of that one out loud to someone a few years back. that was fun reading time.
A.N. Roquelaire
not that I would know anything about stuff like that
Owned them.... read them ...uh..... more than once..... :blushing: Holy hell those are graphic!
Loaned them to a friend and never saw them again. hahaha0 -
Gosh, not sure where to start...50 Shades will probably be summer reading....something tells me homework may be in order..0
-
Why spend all that money when I can just go to literotica?0
-
Have my wife reading Fifty Shades.
Told her I expect a full ORAL report.
And completed homework assignments.0 -

You will hate yourself about 50 pages in.
I mean, really hate yourself.0 -
I'm not a guy, but I don't read them either. I am not opposed to erotic fiction, but it must be well written.
Ditto.
Right on. 50 Shades of lousy juvenile fan fiction is a no. Kushiel's Dart? Yes.
THIS.
(Sorry, I'm not a guy, but if I could high-five you I totally would.)0 -
I don't read them, but I have written racy "romantic" short stories... >.>0
-
I watch porn. I don't read it.0

...then subtract the words. those just get in the way.0 -
Watch porn hands free. Plus I feel like some desperate lonely housewife reading that stuff.0

Wow! Ok, perfect much? I'm agreeing to disagree with much of your replies. It's been real. I'm out. Peace :flowerforyou:0 -

this too plenty of free stuff out there0 -
I'm not interested in reading 50 shades. I have read erotic short stories written by bisexual women (when I was younger), and I read some of them to my husband just for trying it for fun. And then we also wrote some of our own.0
-
Yeah... Instead of reading 50 Shades, I'd just save some time and watch porn. Then read a good book.
Wow. Are there any more like you out there?0 -
The notion that the 50 shade books should be required reading for all men is more terrifying than the old rumors of alligators in the sewers.
Seriously some women need a head examination.0
