Got through 184 running/550 biking/10 swimming/10 lifting sessions in October.

1 less day in November and I'm moving some training hours over to running as I'm wrapping up my last tri for 2015 in a week, and am trying to peak for a January marathon (Disney).

Goal is: 220 running miles, 500 biking miles, 8 swimming miles, and 9 lifting sessions.

Goals - finish the Ultimate Reset and start adding foods back in (and hopefully maintain my better eating habits throughout the winter). And follow my coach's workout schedules to the best of my ability (the next two weeks will be on a "do it if you feel up to it" basis). :)

Got in some threshold intervals on my ride today, along with a short run tonight. Wind was pretty heavy for my ride, so I was struggling to hit 20mph on my Zone 4/5 segments, then I turned around, and was doing 22 mph+ without much effort in Zone 2. Lifting, swimming & running tomorrow. Still figuring out how much to taper for Sunday's Olympic triathlon, but I'll plan to do short 30 minute run/ride/swims Friday & Saturday.

    11/1 - 4 mile run
    11/2 - 4 mile run, 34 mile bike

Total: 8 mile run, 34 mile bike
Goal is: 220 running miles, 500 biking miles, 8 swimming miles, 9 lifting
Remaining: 212 running miles, 466 biking miles, 8 swimming miles, 9 lifting

Got in some intense swimming & running sessions today as I still have another 4 days before my olympic triathlon. Given the duration of the race (hoping to crack the 2:30 mark although forecast is showing 80 degrees/90% humidity at the time of the run), I'm targeting a taper somewhere between my pre marathon taper and half marathon taper w. a full rest day Saturday.

    11/1 - 4 mile run
    11/2 - 4 mile run, 34 mile bike
    11/3 - 9 mile run, 0.7 mile swim, 40 min lift

Goal is: 220 running miles, 500 biking miles, 8 swimming miles, 9 lifting

My trainers finally gave in at 421km's of running, plus daily use in the office. Not too bad to be fair. New ones arrived today. They feel 'heavier'.

Schedule for me this month is going to be just running i think. I have our local Parkrun 1st anniversary run, plus MoRunning 10km at the end of the month. My mo should be in full flow by then!

Finally locked in a slot for Ironman Florida 2016 with their "race ready" package (IM Florida + IM Augusta 70.3) this AM. Luckily I have a good friend in Augusta, and will be able to visit him/his wife/kid for the race in September, whereas my folks live near the IM Florida course. With those 2 races, IM Florida 70.3 in April, and two marathons (Disney & Pittsburgh), I should be all set for 2016 racing as my race budget is now totally destroyed - putting me at $1600 in total registration costs for the 5 events. On the plus side, no housing/hotel costs for the events, which always helps.

Also, my local bike shop was nice enough to upgrade my iffy microshift bar end shifters to Dura-Ace on my new TT bike today, so shifting is infinitely better, and I'm psyched for my weekend race. Going to do some easy riding today and tomorrow to get it dialed in, I'll go running tonight, do a quick open water swim, then will cut back tomorrow/Saturday to taper for my Sunday race.

    11/1 - 4 mile run
    11/2 - 4 mile run, 34 mile bike
    11/3 - 9 mile run, 0.7 mile swim, 40 min lift

Took things easy today as I went for a long slow ride with a neighbor for much of the day then got in a few short intense sessions tonight to keep things sharp (2 mile run, 0.5 mile swim, and short lifting session).

Tomorrow is a rest day going into Sunday's Olympic Triathlon (aside from riding the 1.5 miles to/from the expo/transition area). Goals for the race are not to drown in the swim (looks like no wetsuit this year, but the gulf is relatively shallow and calm this weekend), shave 6 minutes off the bike (22.5mph goal speed), and another 6 off the run (7:25 pace). We'll see what happens Sunday, but I'd love to crack the 2:30 mark.

    11/1 - 4 mile run
    11/2 - 4 mile run, 34 mile bike
    11/3 - 9 mile run, 0.7 mile swim, 40 min lift
    11/4 - 6 mile run, 39 mile bike
    11/5 - 19 mile bike
    11/6 - 54 mile bike, 2 mile run, 0.5 mile swim, 30 min lift

Total: 25 mile run, 127 mile bike, 1.2 mile swim, 2 lift
Goal is: 220 running miles, 500 biking miles, 8 swimming miles, 9 lifting
Remaining: 195 running miles, 373 biking miles, 6.8 swimming miles, 7 lifting

First bad race in a while as I didn't push myself enough in the swim (2:14/100m), and was a full 2 minutes slower than last year's olympic triathlon. Weather was a bit icky (79 degrees/83% humidity), but the bike went ok (21.1mph), and run was fine (7:37 pace) given the conditions, so I netted out to be about 8.5 minutes faster than last year. Was within 3 minutes of finishing on the podium, so I'm getting close.

On the plus side, it was an easy 5 minute bike ride home from the finish line, so I got to shower & recover pretty quickly.

Recovering fine from my race this weekend, so I ended up joining a small group ride with one of the race teams I met at my triathlon. I took my road bike (as I wasn't sure about group ride etiquette on tri bikes), but the others were on tri bikes, so I ended up sucking a lot of wind keeping up on their tempo ride as they liked pushing 25mph on the long flats. Needless to say, I spent most of the ride drafting, but was able to pull a bit on the bridges as I seem to be a reasonably solid climber. Regardless, it is always good to make a few more training contacts, even though I tend to prefer training below my race pace.

Otherwise took it easy yesterday then resumed my grind today. Not sure I'll hit my running goal as I'll need to taper & recover from my half this weekend as well, but I'll aim for 60 miles/week for the last 2 weeks of the month.

    11/1 - 4 mile run
    11/2 - 4 mile run, 34 mile bike
    11/3 - 9 mile run, 0.7 mile swim, 40 min lift
