Great snack suggestions

My snacks are a handful (8) unsalted dry roasted almonds in the morning. Hummus with zucchini, cucumbers, carrots or cauliflower in the afternoon.

My latest snacking obsession is sunflower seeds. One would think because they are very high in calories that they wouldn't make a good snack, but if you buy them in shell a little bit goes a long way. 1 oz takes about 30 minutes to eat if you aren't rushing it and the actual amount of calories consumed is 1/3 to 1/2 of the weight, so in reality 1 oz only yields 10-12 grams of edible seeds and only about 50-60 calories. Not bad for 30 minutes of continuous eating.0

My latest favorite snack is mini cucumbers sliced in half lengthwise, salt & pepper, and dipped in ranch or hummus. So cool & crunchy!0

I like snacking on apples or bananas with peanut or almond butter. You can use Nutella, but I only take 25g of and only if I crave chocolate. Salami is another good snack.0 -

I eat a salted tomato a lot.
I like to spread avocado on a toasted English muffin. Its good with hard boiled eggs on it too. Or roll cheese and ham or Turkey in a lettuce leaf. Or PB protein balls. (Pb, oatmeal, protein powder, honey, chocolate chips rolled into balls and stick in fridge.)0 -
Or banana balls... Smush a banana mix with oats and protein powder, shape into balls and freeze

If you're looking into hummus, definitely make your own! It's so ridiculously easy and you can adjust the recipe so you love it. For example, I like to add more garlic and lemon juice and skip the tahini altogether. It's way cheaper than store bought, you get a ton more, and there's a lot less processed stuff and less sodium.0 -
