Working towards a goal....getting below 300

This is excellent progress. I started at 415 and after about 18 months I am down 90lbs. It is always motivating to see these lifestyle changes since it is where I am right now. I have been battling and plateauing for 6 weeks, finally losing an eighth of a pound after almost a month.
It is a rough ride and I want nothing more to get under 300 by the end of the year.1 -
Forgot to update monday.. was at 216.9. I am going on vacation for the 4th of July weekend so we shall see how that goes. Hoping to not come back having gained too much. I will have a guest gym pass to use at least to try and stay on track haha.3

Close to sub 200
Awesome progress
Well done that man1 -
Made it through vacation unscathed.. gave my body a day or two to adjust once I got back scale said 215.7 this AM. Was able to get at least one workout in on vacation and did a lot of walking. Happy I still lost a bit, and didn't gain.4

You know the healthy minimum for men is 1500 calories? Other than that, good job and good luck0

Just wanted to say a huge WELL DONE0

WOW what an inspiration you are!0

Yes I'm aware. There are some days I eat above that, some days I eat below. It just depends. I've found what works for me without being starved. I've been slowly upping my calories as I get closer to where I want to be. I'm never hungry though.3 -
I just read your entire thread!! You're doing AMAZING! I have about 28-33 pounds to lose and you're inspiring me to get my booty moving more! I friend requested you0
-
Seriously, Congrats. I've been trying to lose weight for years and sometimes it is just easier to say screw it and stop dieting. Your weight loss journey is very inspiring.1

209.3 as of this morning. Going to dial back the exercise or start upping my calories. Losing too fast. I've been working out alot more...so going to dial back a bit. I'm actually pretty happy where I'm at. Trying to give myself some cushion as I want to start building some muscle and tone up a bit which I know I will have to eat a bit more and start lifting a little heavier so I expect to put a few lbs back on.4

I’ve followed your journey for a few months now and just wanted to say congratulations on your continued weight loss success.0

207 this morning.2

You are kicking butt! Awesome!!0

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading in one of your posts that you eat pizza every day. Have you thought about eating more clean meals? I think what you eat is more important than a calorie deficit for your overall health. Maybe it'd help with the blood pressure too? (I'm not an expert, just a thought I had)
Good luck!0 -

I eat pizza every day when I am working from home instead of the office. This isn't every single week, I've just happened to be working from home the past few weeks..so it's been an every day occurrence. My blood pressure is back to normal levels now that I've lost all this weight. All of my blood work/cholesterol levels etc are all good. I'm off all the medications I was on before and my doctor is happy with everything.
I don't really have a desire to eat "clean". I get plenty of protein in my other meals, and fiber etc. If my blood levels were out of whack and my BP was back up I would worry, but everything is in normal ranges now even with eating pizza alot.11 -
203.6 today... some weeks i swear i think i eat worse than normal but still lose more than I thought I would. Still kicking *kitten* in the gym which probably helps, but 200 is in my sites haha.5

You are so close! Amazing!1

Ok then you're wrong
What is important to weight loss is calories
What is important to overall health is ensuring you have a wide range of foods, hit your protein and fats minimum, get a wide spread of micronutrients but not necessarily "eating clean" which is an undefinable approach
No reason if you've hit your nutritional requirements you can't eat pizza or ice cream daily

Getting control of your own body can be an invigorating experience. Keep it up man you are doing great. Later on your weightloss is likely going to slow down but don't let that disuade you. Eventually when you are out of that morbid obesity danger zone might even think about slowly upping your daily intake heading towards sustainability.
I'd echo the concerns of others that 1200 calories at your size is exceedingly low and you probably shouldn't try to sustain that for long.0 -
When I started the path to being healthy, I maxed out at 376 pounds. After 7 months of work I recently broke the 300 mark [at 298 currently]. If I can do it, then so can you.
EDIT: That's what I get for only reading the first page. Congrats on losing so much already.4 -

You must have only read the first page haha I eat well above 1200 now. I only did that at the very beginning under doctor supervision. I'm down to 201 now and looking to break the 200 mark in the next few weeks.2 -

I just wanted to thank you for keeping this thread going with updates. I see soooo many people on MFP with a lot more weight to lose that I need to, and they just disappear. I assume they gave up. But so see someone with such a huge goal, and you stuck with it, and kept us updated, this is just awesome! It gives me hope that I can stick with it to lose my 50 to 70 lbs. Thank you for inspiring me (and a whole bunch of other people)!2
