December 2015 Multisport Challenge. Anyone can join in. New & Old. However, you must complete more than one sport.
Anybody want to join me for a multisport challenge? Set a goal and mark it every day here.
You can do any COMBINATION of swim, cycle, run, walk, treadmill, yoga or whatever it is that you do! Just be consistent. Your goals are your goals.
You can set your goal now but wait until Tuesday December 1st to start logging!

I'm in! I'm a swimmer who sometimes runs so will set my goal low at 50km!

Next big race is a marathon (Disney in January) and I have an outside shot at a Boston Qualifier time (need a 3:10 but ran a 1:32 half last month), so I'm increasing the running and cutting back on the lifting and biking goals. Being more disciplined with my diet and shaving 10lb over 6 weeks is probably my best shot at pulling it off though - so back to being super-disciplined with the food logging here on myfitnesspal.

I'd love to join this group. I'm excited and nervous about December between family, travel, party and work schedules. My fitness and weight loss goals are a priority and I want to continue my focus! I'll think about my goals this evening and post tomorrow.0

I'm diversifying & December has some travel/scheduling glitches, so I'll post in here!
My December goal is to walk my usual 100k steps a week, complete at least 10 hours of yoga practice, dance at least 5 hours in Zumba or UrbanKick, complete all the body weight challenges in the Hogwarts thread, and fit in 2+ hours of some snow sport... either xcountry skiing or snow shoeing depending on the amount of base we have at our cabin.0 -

I applied to rejoin the army last month, as a reservist. Problem is, i had a bit of a shady military record 20 odd years ago. I called them up today, and sure enough, my case is being processed and is at stage 'Prior Service Records', so they'll be pulling up my old files and making a decision based on that as to wether to continue or not. Kinda sucks that currently the whole thing is resting on what i did as a teenager.
But anyway! I did my own version of the army fitness test today. Its based on a run, with a 0.5mile warm up, then a 1.5mile (2.4km)timed run.
After a slightly longer warmup, i ran in 10:55. 25 seconds outside of Parachute regiment pace, but 3 minutes faster than i'd need to! If my application goes through, im wanting to hit the higher tier of fitness.0 -

Guest and I did a small Holiday 5K tonight, and I managed to collect my first piece of (overall/non-age group) hardware, finishing the race in 19:26, and coming in 2nd out of 85 runners. I was pretty disciplined with my pacing (6:20/6:28/6:17 splits for the 3 miles), and passed 2 runners who started out too fast at the midpoint of the race as they tired. Still, first place ran a solid consistent race (finishing 20 seconds ahead of me), and I didn't have a good chance to close the gap at the end. Regardless, I'm postponing my long run to tomorrow night as the weather should be awesome then and I'll be a bit less sore.

Ended up doing my long run last night en route to/from a group speedwork session (5 there, 5 fast, 5 home), so I opted for a long metric century bike today to recover. Feeling a bit odd resting this long between lifting sessions, but I probably should lose some upper body muscle mass if I want to make a run at a BQ at my Disney Marathon in another 6 weeks. With the Sunday 5k, 15 miler w. speedwork yesterday, and another 6 today, I probably need to take a day off from running tomorrow.
