    Guest and I did a small Holiday 5K tonight, and I managed to collect my first piece of (overall/non-age group) hardware, finishing the race in 19:26, and coming in 2nd out of 85 runners. I was pretty disciplined with my pacing (6:20/6:28/6:17 splits for the 3 miles), and passed 2 runners who started out too fast at the midpoint of the race as they tired. Still, first place ran a solid consistent race (finishing 20 seconds ahead of me), and I didn't have a good chance to close the gap at the end. Regardless, I'm postponing my long run to tomorrow night as the weather should be awesome then and I'll be a bit less sore.

    Ended up doing my long run last night en route to/from a group speedwork session (5 there, 5 fast, 5 home), so I opted for a long metric century bike today to recover. Feeling a bit odd resting this long between lifting sessions, but I probably should lose some upper body muscle mass if I want to make a run at a BQ at my Disney Marathon in another 6 weeks. With the Sunday 5k, 15 miler w. speedwork yesterday, and another 6 today, I probably need to take a day off from running tomorrow.

    Nice weather, so lots of biking the last 2 days, along with some running & swimming as well. Falling a bit behind on the running part, but I have some long runs planned for Sunday & Monday. On the plus side, the weight is getting closer to my target for my next race (Disney Marathon), but I still have about a pound/week to shave this month.
