On the 8th there was an incident at out local dog park, that's part of the park I run. I really stewed about going today. /// One woman was there, and there was this vehicle just sitting there, waiting. I stopped, pretended to stretch, eyed the person, the woman was walking to her vehicle, so I walked to her and chatted... The vehicle left. She is ex military and was concerned for me, which is why she started over. Any how, I'll (hopefully) get a baton and keep an eye out, especially now that I've seen that vehicle.

I know I'm just spinning here, but I thought about getting a bb pistol and making sure is somewhat apparent in my waistband. Also give me time to think rationally.

@Elise4270 Like you said take the time to think rationally.
Be very careful bringing any type of Self Protection items - Quite often the tables are turned around and what you planned on using for Protection gets taken by the criminals and is then used against you. Don't get a bb gun those just invite bigger guns that carry live - deadly ammo. If you ever see that vehicle again and there are other people at the park use the safety of the group to capture a smart phone picture of it - license plate - and send it to the authorities, friends and a work email. If the person(s) get antsy-belligerent that's your signal that they might be a person of interest. Keep on protecting yourself and those around you.

Life conflicts so no run this morning - hoping to get out in about an hour from now.

    Wow! So many posts!!

I ran to some new (to me) trails today which were really tricky despite being quite flat for the most part. Horses go through there and there were long patches of frozen mud and ice with treacherous footing with so many hoof holes. Overall it was a great run despite some occasional dangerous footing even for walking.

    2/1 - 4 miles
    2/2 - 4.3 miles
    2/4 - 4 miles
    2/6 - 11.1 miles
    2/8 - 9.5 miles
    2/10 - 4.5 miles
    2/12 - 5.3 miles
    2/14 - 9.2 miles

    51.9 of 100 miles

@juliet3455 ya, your right. I was talking it over with my husband, he thinks the woman at the park was an undercover officer. I'm sure they'll get it under control.I'll just keep my eyes open.

Got my shirts yesterday...they are awesome! Thanks @Elise4270 ! I'm sorry to hear about your knee and your park. Stay well and safe!

@kristinegift You're the second person I've heard raving about the Hamilton soundtrack...may have to pick that one up.

@MobyCarp I will not complain about my 12-mile treadmill runs after your 22-mile track run. At least I can watch a movie!

@Elise4270 Oh be careful. We had a shooting Friday night in my apartment complex Friday night. Cops all over and I slept right through it.

Good workout today. 5 miles warmup (avg 9:05 pace) on TM with incline set from 1.0 - 5.0 Most time spent at 2 & 3 incline. Followed by a 5K in 23:26 (7:34 pace). The 23:26 is my fastest 5K of this winter's training cycle. I continue to see improvement. However, 50.3 miles this week, which for me screams I cant wait till warmer weather so I can get outside more and put some big miles on my legs.

Late Night 6 km run in 37 mins ( 6 min/km ) along the River Bank Trails. Looking at my Cadence I started out at about 151 spm ( 5 min Avg ) then slowly ramped up to 162 spm - any time I go above this cadence I feel like I have 3 left feet. Even doing my so called Speed Work/Sprints.

2C and I was Over Dressed = Over heating. Should have left the Wind Breaker hanging on the chair beside the door. It was a beautiful night, no clouds, no moonlight so the Stars and Northern Lights were giving all of us that were outside a real show.

    02/01 – 0.0 Km – 140 km – 150.8 Km
    02/06 – 9.0 Km – 9.0 – 131 – 159.8 Km
    02/07 – 21.1 Km – 30.1 - 109.9 – 180.9 Km
    02/08 – 6.0 Km – 36.1 - 103.9 – 186.9 Km
    02/10 – 8.0 Km – 44.1 - 95.9 – 194.9 Km
    02/13 – 9.0 Km – 53.1 – 86.9 – 203.9 Km
    02/14 – 6.0 Km – 59.1 – 80.9 – 209.9 Km

@Elise4270 - please be careful out there! How about taking a dog with you? I always figure/hope no one will bother me if I have Hobbes the Vizsla with me. On the other hand if anyone tried to hurt him I would go after them and they would need to watch out! :)
@ddmom0811 - the VW bus was part of the Expo for the Surf City race. They had a collection of them (beautifully restored) along with the large mock up of the medal surf board so of course it was a perfect picture spot!
@HonuNui - love the sea turtle!! One of these days I am going to come visit you to sample all that yummy food and drink as well as see a sea turtle up close and in person!

Went for a short (active recovery) run on the beach with the pup. This beach is right next to where the race went last Sunday only it was foggy and 20 degrees cooler today! Too bad we couldn't have had the cool fog last weekend instead of the heat!

Really pleased with the 6.6 miles I've just done, my furthest ever. That's 34 miles out of 60 for the month. I've just signed up for my first ever race, a 10k in July and I've just proved to myself I can already make the distance :)

@_nikkiwolf_ - oh my gosh - you are amazing to even try to go back out in that weather. Hail that stings through jacket! Imagine if it hit you on the face - it would look like you got beat up.
    @Calli1616 - lol hufflepug. :smile:
@ohhim - 26 mph bike ride! WOW, that is the A group in my bike club. We've got A-- 24+, B+ -- 22-24, B -- 20-22 and B-Nice 18-20. I'm in the B-Nice group. I've only been biking about 16 months and can probably move up to B in a few months. But A... I don't think so. Seminole Cyclists is my bike club ... if you ever make it to north Orlando. You can ride with those really fast guys. The weird thing is some of them don't even seem in shape... I don't get it.
@dominichoran - your mileage.... wow. That sounds like a fun run!

Need to figure out next HM - but waiting for the Nike tour to be announced. Want that Tiffany Nike necklace. Plus not sure about summer plans yet. Planning on trip to Europe but also am going to be AP Reader in KC for 10 days.

Long run tomorrow ...day off of school. Then Tuesday going to UF for programming competition with 9 students - for a very long day 7am-8pm, so going to run early that day to avoid going insane on bus 5 hours as a chaperone. Kids are amazing, so no problem with them, just sitting on a bus.

    Feb 1 - 4.27
    Feb 2- repairing/recovery day.
    Feb 3 - Strength training 4.5 miles
    Feb 4 - rest
    Feb 5 - Strength training
    Feb 6 - 34 mile bike ride
    Feb 7 - 13.1 HM - New PR 2:18:57!!!
    Feb 8 - 3.05 mile recovery run.
    Feb 9 - 1 hour spinning class
    Feb 10 - Strength training
    Feb 11 - 6 miles
    Feb 12 - recovery day
    Feb 13 - 34 mile bike ride
    Feb 14 - 36 mile bike ride

Paris was nice, but the weather no so much, would like to go back in the Summer and take in more: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1047716652

Donadea is a fantastic resource and quite close to the city, but relatively unknown: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1049100865

@shanaber my dogs aren't even leash trained. I could work on that and use them on walk days (that I need to do as I increase mileage) . one is the biggest chicken poop, other might be fine- he's overweight and could use regular walks.

@stowshew71 I grew up in Dallas. I'm totally desensitized to shootings. I think I'm some kind of a bad *kitten*.. Id hate to find out differently though.

Thanks everyone! I'll reread- starting the work day..

My knee is pissed about yesterday's run *sigh*. I may consider the bone and joint clinic early next week if there isn't significant improvement.
