I know exactly what I'm having for dinner tonight!
Bacon, eggs cooked in the grease topped with cheese and a buttermilk biscuit, with Blackburn syrup!!!!
Ok..let me slap myself back to reality :happy:0 -
Better still, cook the eggs directly on top of the bacon after first rendering a bit of the fat. That way it's all together when you put together the sammich.
I wanna try this! That's brilliant!
with a three cheese blend on top! Yumz0 -
Does it get any better?
Only if you melt cheese on top!
And put that on top of a hamburger
omg...
And with a Krispy Kreme donut instead of a bun.
I am sooooo looking forward to bulking again . . .0 -
Yes it gets better. Steak and eggs with steak you couldn't finish the night before and your husband reheats your steak in bacon grease from his bacons and then gives you a couple of those too to go with your steak and eggs. And sourdough toast to dip in it all to make sure you dont' miss one yummy yolky greasy bite.0

I had a dream two nights ago...
Crumbled maple bacon apple pie with a bacon weave top and rendered bacon lard in the crust instead of crisco.0 -
When you cook the bacon, in a seperate pan pour pancake batter over the strips of bacon, and dip those in syrup. Then continue on with your bacon grease, eggs and cheese.
I WILL be making these!0 -
I must be the odd man out but my grandmas did that growing up and I thought it was gross.0

It's decided. I am totally having steak and eggs for brunch sometime this weekend. Because I am special and I deserve it.
I went through a phase where I would buy the thickest cut bacon I could and would saute Brussels sprouts in garlic with the bacon (and of course the rendered fat, which the sprouts absorb really well). The combination is just magical.0 -
Eggs and potatoes in duck fat are one better, IMHO. But bacon grease is awesome too.0

Hey thanks, this thread was driving me nuts wanting bacon and bacon pancakes but just googling black pudding gave me a visual that should suppress my appetite for hours.0 -

I made the perfect bacon in one of those microwave grills today! Have to share since it's a bacon thread. It's so much easier and less messy! And FAST 1min a slice! So glad I bought that thing at Wal-Mart! I was such a cynic, too!

Are you kidding me - I'm so hungry now and I only have 500 calories left for the day - thanks a bunch!
bacon is very filling and not so bad on calories, imo. you can afford a couple slices0 -

This is such a favorite in our house that we have it for dinner as well, and I'm not even British, just a bit of an Anglophile. More often in the winter when we don't mind a little extra padding, haha! I put grape tomatoes and mushrooms in to roast with some herbed olive oil. Heinz baked beans for sure, and also a slice of warm, brown bread. Maybe with a little lemon curd on top.0 -

The first time I tried it, I was determined I would be turned off by the blood. Turns out it was actually all the spices they put into the mixture that put me off. I don't know what - cloves maybe? Blech. But the white pudding was good. And those little sausages that go POP! when you bite into them? They're the best.
Sorry, back to eggs and bacon grease...0 -
