We see it all the time in the forums. This food is bad... that food is bad. And usually supported with some terrible anecdotal evidence or poorly collected data from a coorelational study. Coorelation =/= Causation.

But the truth is food is just food with varying levels of nutritional benefit.

My favorite condemned food, according to the MFP forums, is sugar; a substance your body requires to perform any action... but wait... some people's bodies can't handle it so that must be what makes us fat.

    I'm a huge fan of gluten. Fresh baked bread, pasta, just plain gluten fried in a sandwich. It's seitan, not Satan, and it's delicious.

    Carbohydrates! I'm tired of being told they're bad, bloat you,upset your blood sugar etc. I couldn't live without bread (wholemeal,of course),crispbreads, cereals, pasta, rice, potatoes, couscous........and as long as I chooses the healthier, low-GI versions they do me no harm at all. Don't know how people can live on a 'carb-free' diet.

    pizza. proper pizza. with cheese and crust and toppings. culiflower does NOT taste like pizza crust.

    Milk. As in cow milk that's for baby cows blahblahblahlalalalala.

    I drink milk and eat at least two of the following every day - cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, icecream, half and half. No lactose intolerance here.

    I hate fish so much that I wish I was a hot slutty fish who would promise to go out on dates with other fishes and then stand them up

    I hate fish so much that I would get their phone numbers and then sign them up for cat facts

    I hate fish so much that I would tell them that in order to get in better shape, they need fish oil

    I can't limit it to one because I eat everything, but gluten, sugar, fruit, dairy, and red meat are a few of my favorites.

    i like everything, except for those things that taste bad or are truly evil (i'm looking at you black licorice, asparagus, and brussels sprouts!)

    the people who feel compelled to label food as bad, may be afflicted with orthorexia.

    Cheese. I know it's full of fat. I know it's high in calories. But it's also high in calcium and it's delicious. So I'll have one piece instead of five. But don't take away my cheese!

    Some thing for cereal. I'm a cereal freak, I'm obsessed with it. I choose cereals that are very high in fiber and lower in carbs. Sure, there are still carbs. Whatever. It's loaded with fiber and I get milk with it too which gives some of my calcium and vitamin D and a good heap of protein. I'm not starting a day without my cereal.

    The fat from any meat like steak or pork, most people cut it off because they say it taste nasty and it really bad for you but I happen to love the fat. Just think of a nice steak hot off the grill with a thin layer of fat all around it, OMG it is the best, or when you cook one of those hams in the oven that has the layer of fat around it that gets all nice and crispy. I miss it but I do eat it occassionally because it taste oh so good.

    Mine is so evil it sneaks out of the jar at night to try to strangle me in my sleep. But I'm on to it!

    I'm with you! Sugar is my favorite condemned food. I think it's a great pre-workout energy boost! :drinker:

    I'm in too. Due to time constraints I ate fast food twice for meal yesterday. Made sure I met my protein and fat goal, but stayed under in calories. And no gain in weight this morning. Amazing.
