I'm 30 and I average about 7-9 hours a night. Less than 6.5 hours I can barely function.

I'm 23 and I need about 5-6 hours to function, 7 to feel well rested. I needed a lot more before I had my son.

9 hours at least - 27 female. Who only usually gets 5 - 6 hours :scream:

No wonder I blow my calorie goals so often. Not that this is news to me.

I think some studies say you need lots as a teenager/young adult then less as you get older, until you're quite a bit older and need more. And women need on average 20 minutes more per night than men (can be up to an hour).

No idea where the thresholds are.

I'm 30. 7-9 is good, but I can survive with 6 just fine. I can do less, but not for extended periods, especially if I'm working and working out a lot.

I've noticed if I wake up in the middle of a sleep cycle I have a worse day, even if I get more sleep, than if I get less but wake up naturally at the end of a cycle.

Also diet and hydration, if I eat *kitten* and drink lots of coffee/alcohol I feel much worse than if I eat decent foods and drink lots of water.

I'm 22-years old and sleep for about 5-hours each night (only due to a terribly long commute, dedicated gym time and taking care of a house full of boys when I get home). By the time Thursday rolls around, I can barely keep my eyes open. I need 8-hours of sleep to function at ideal levels.

I notice 6 hours is my sweet spot. If I sleep 8 hours or more I feel lazy all day. 5 or less and I'm sleepy all day.

I'm 23 and can function regularly on as little as 5 hours, but I feel fully rested with 7-8!

Normally I sleep 5hrs.. For me to feel well rested I would need 7 - 8 hrs.. Because of my busy schedule, I haven't had 6+ hrs of sleep in a long time

Well, I can sleep forever but I used to do psychotic shift work so now 3-4 hours / night is sufficient... if I get more then great
