You look great! I'm at where you were at the beginning. I have serious health issues relating to obesity, acid reflux, and arthritis. I was diagnosed this year with tracheal stenosis related to acid reflux. I have to lose weight before I can get the procedure to tighten the muscle that keeps acid from flowing back up into the esophagus. My gastrologist and the thoracic specialist want me to lose 25 lbs. before they consider surgery on my stomach and windpipe.

So yeah, I'm in. I've started counting calories (again) and stop eating after supper, which I try to eat as early as possible (between 3 to 4 o'clock). I find if I go to bed on an empty stomach, I don't wake up congested and I can breathe better.

These 10 pounds are rough, I lose one, then I gain one - then I plateau. This has been going on for at least 6 months. I need accountability to focus, and then maintaining is the mission!

Anyone want to join this challenge with me?

I do how do we sign up

I just read this from Women's Health. "...According to a Brazilian study, women who strength-trained 3 times a week gained 5 pounds of muscle and lost 16 pounds of fat!"

I like this study and I can commit to strength-training 3x a week! They didn't say how long this took, but I think we could safely assume it could be accomplished before May 1 :)

I think we need to make a plan for this challenge.
Weekly post on Sundays that includes:
    • Exercise goals for the week
    • Diet plans for the week / calorie goals / nutritional goals (for example, more water, more vegetables, less booze, etc)
    • Weight goal at end of week

We also give the results from the prior week goal that we posted. For example: Exercise goal (I made my walking goals, but missed one strength training because of ....)

Make sense? I think this would keep me more accountable, having to post my wins and losses! All the days in between we can share what is working for us and what is not. For example: I can NOT watch tv after 8pm or I am guaranteed to grab "just one little snack..." then the munchies set in for me. I have started brushing my teeth (and flossing) immediately after dinner to deter myself. Sometimes it works ;)

I cannot seem to get the scale to budge!!! It's been months..
    stuck at 154
    5'5"
    GW 140-143
I just started a new circuit weight routine 2 weeks ago. I work out for at least a hour a day, 6 days a week, and I've lost a pants size  and 2" on my waist. Nothing was changing when I was doing cardio everyday these past few months, so to see some progress with resistance toning was encouraging.
I just can't figure out why I'm getting smaller, and the scale is stuck!!haha
    I'm happiest around a toned 143 lbs.
I was thinking about going down to 1200 calories a day to see if that's it

Don't deprive yourself of nutrients with 1200 Cal per day only! Better to eat clean, but enough. Then "work" the calories off to get to your "target" of how many calories you want to eat. Michael Phelps said that he burned 12.000 calories a day during training. Don't burn THAT MUCH a day but try to keep track of your daily calorie intake. I personally walk it off 30-50 minutes a day eating clean.

I'm in!! I want to lose 10 lb by april 22, so it'll be nice to have a group! :)

Currently i'm vegan, and struggling with keeping my calories, carbs, and sugars low.. my goal this weekend is to find all the snacks which are low sugar and carb... I find eating three servings of fruits/day (1 c strawberries, 1 banana, and an apple) + vegan yogurt and soy in my coffee is putting me at my sugar limit! Somewhat discouraging, but will just incorporate more green snacking, I guess! Anyone else having trouble getting ALL their numbers to work well together?

Me too! I have lost 7-10 pounds in the past month. (I didn't weigh myself the first week.) I have 140 to go. Really looking for some support and motivation.
