So I could walk 10,000 steps a day a lose a lot of weight with that alone?

10K steps, for most, is thought to help maintain. For many to drop any weight you have to go to 15k to 20 K . You have to figure out your deficit though. Just walking, if you still have don't have a calorie deficit ci<co, wont do anything for you.

I was walking about 20K to 30K last summer and that REALLY helped create a deficit lol

We should all aim for 10K steps to maintain a healthy lifestyle.. or so many "researches" say. I don't know much about walking and health seeing as I'm not an expert and haven't done any intensive studies etc in this.

    BUT..

Moving of any kind when you don't move is always an improvement.. If you only walk around the block, you still outdid the person just sitting on the couch :P

    With that said.

YES 10K OR MORE !! we can do it ! go go go !!

What is a calorie deficit? I keep seeing it, but don't know what it means

A calorie deficit is when you burn more calories than you eat. CICO means Calories In-Calories Out.

For instance, if you have a 1200 calorie goal for the day and your exercise burns more than 1200 calories, you will probably lose weight if you are consistently under your goal of 1200 calories a day. Your daily calorie goal can be at whatever you choose but in order to actually lose weight you have to come in under that goal.

Wow I am nowhere near that, ever. I get it now. Thanks!
