Interesting how the popularity of names come and go.

My first name is ranked #7 over the last 100 years. I graduated from high school with six Susans (out of 175- yeah, small school).

My daughter's name was very popular around the 1880s until 1900.
When I had her (2004), I did not know of any girls with her name and I thought she would be unique without being unusual.
Even the nurse in the hospital said she hadn't heard that name being used.
Since then, the popularity of her name has exploded.

My son's names had similar popularity.

Guess I'm a trend setter.

My daughter, Keira, is #4237 with 0.001% of females in the U.S. with her name.
Mine, Dawn, is #105 with 0.202%. That surprised me. Growing up, I never met another Dawn. Recently, I've met several though.

    Cool topic.

My dad told me it was pretty popular in the 70's (Stacy). But that was for girls. Not sure about boys.

JERRIE is the #1663 most common female first name
0.004% of females in the US are named JERRIE.
Around 4900 US females are named JERRIE!

However, the male version of my name is #39 most common male first name
0.432% of males in the US have my name & around 529200 US males have my name.

This is probably why all 4 years of high school I was placed in male PE classes. My senior year, the guys in the class told the teacher to let me stay!!

Wow, I am way into the 800s. Not to mention it's a name more suited for boys. But Bruce Springsteen and John Travolta liked it enough.
