Okay, so my biggest pet peeve is laziness which is like a requirement here in America (I am German). I've been living here awhile and notice that the average business will look for any and all excuses to close either early or take the day off.
I know this girl who whines constantly about her 8-4 job.
Silly americans I work from 7-8 -.- that's 7:00PM until 8:00AM and I typically work 16 hour shifts. Actually last week I worked a 16, an 11, and a few 9 and a halfs.
I haven't had a day off in 9-10 days now? I lost count.
Sure after you've been up 26-30 hours you get a little cranky but I could not fathom complaining after working 8 hours?
My other gripe is I was at the mall and I noticed a sign on one of the doors, "due to the economy we are closing early"
So many problems with it, i nearly flipped.
First: IT opened at 10 and closed at 11!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Second: How does being open for an hour a day save money? You're losing like 7 hours of customers and business?
I have also noticed if a chinese boy takes a crap and an american finds out, they will try and take the day off?
So many holidays, I get being patriotic but come on
i feel much better0 -

^ I was too lazy to read that big old long thing you wrote. You seem to have too much time on your hands. Get a job!

I'm not even all that patriotic, but because I'm a lazy American, I enjoyed everyone else trotting out the statistics on vacations and leave in other countries so I didn't have to bother.
*Many people who complain about their 8 hour days do so because our minimum wage is so low that many are left wondering why bother working. It's hard not to resent making minimum wage for companies that have some of the richest people in the world at the top. Not saying there can't be a wage hierarchy, but the size of the gap is a bit ridiculous. It can create a serious case of the hopeless bitters when you don't see a way out because you can't afford to go to school and the money you make barely covers the bills, if it does at all. People complain about welfare recipients, but some families have little choice but to quit working because the instant they do, their children lose their health insurance and the wage they make isn't actually enough to be able to afford another plan and the subsequent co-pays.
I don't complain about the hours I work because I'm fortunate enough to be able to do what I love. I don't do it for the pay, the hours, or the price that it cost to get the education needed to do it. Not everyone gets that lucky.0 -

As a person who has moved from Europe to Canada, I have one thing to say: If you don't like it, get out. Go back home. I don't have much patience for people who moved somewhere else like myself, who belittle their adoptive country.
I am assuming you had a reason to move there. Better job, maybe? More opportunities? Whatever it was that brought you there, be grateful, learn to respect the country and the people who live there, learn to embrace your differences. You just come off as very disrespectful.0 -
This is your brain on whatever the heck you're smoking:
Not sure what that really has to do with anything but okay?
Basically you cray
This. This is why I love you. And you have an awesome rack.
Personally, I'm not a big fan...
...but this particular post was right on.0 -
Seriously? Get out of my country then. Call me lazy? You dont even know me. I cant stand it when people come into the country and run their mouths.
Exactly. My grandfather fought in WWII and had to come back and use the "colored" water fountain. Your family from Germany had more opportunites then he ever did!
And this is still the greatest country in the world! Don't like it? Leave.
America is a great country and a very blessed country. And possibly greatest country FOR YOU. But it is far from the greatest country. And I say that because I don't want the American population (who I love btw) to waste their potential while trying to go through a delusion that they're the greatest. Currently the only thing America is greatest at is manipulating their public into thinking that everything is alright and spreading war amongst the world.
...and by that I mean donkey. No time for donkeys here, only pony's. It's a real word that refers to donkeys which are not pony's and neither are unicorns although both make a reasonable facsimile, but of course when the former opens it's mouth it's true nature is exposed and it's clear where it belongs. The other is just a fantasy and thus also easily differentiated by being eternally horny. Thus a fantasy. So yeah, nothing to see here no rules broken just a discussion of 3 similar but different animals. That's all.0 -
