Nutella...

So, Nutella, we meet again. Too long has your siren call been absent from my pantry. Many moons have passed since I banished you from said pantry knowing that in your presence all resistance was futile.
The new day has dawned on this journey of my life when said, "Today is the day when I am strong enough to face the chocolatey temptation and have the shining strength to stop at the recommended serving size!"
Armed with scale and other measuring devices I take my 15g...the jar goes back in the cupboard. I am triumphant as I hold my spoon aloft, trumpets sound at the glory of my resilience, strength of will and adherence to the mighty cause!!
But wait...my mind...what..? What is happening?....
An hour has gone by? How did that happen? What is this empty jar in my...*gasp*...oh no...not again....
I will win some day, Nutella...some day....

First Nutella, then Little Debbie.1

I've never been a huge fan of Nutella
Cookie butter on the other hand7 -
"Leatherwood honey"? Sounds like a country-western group.
It's delicious ... my favourite honey ...

It just tastes like cake frosting to me, way too sweet.3

I'll share my secret:

I have a jar buried in the bottom of the deep freezer. Being forced go all the way to the basement to painstakingly shave the rock hard goop out of the jar with a dull spoon slows me down enough to keep things under control.15

Maybe the universe is trying to help me.
Nutella has not historically been something I can moderate.1 -
I go into my peanut butter jar with a measuring spoon and log before eating. Otherwise, I could have an empty jar in my hands, too.3

I win with nutella now, I'm so glad we can keep a small jar of it and peanut butter now1

You know what's better than Nutella? Nutella and peanut butter....7

I've had a jar of Nutella in my cupboard for a couple of months now. Don't know what happened but I can totally moderate it now!1

It's funny because I love Justin's hazelnut butter on toast. But I tried it once in a crepe and it was a huge disappointment. Nothing beats a Nutella crepe.0 -
When it comes to Nutella, a taste is usually enough for me.
My go-to way to eat it these days is on weight watchers multigrain toast (50 cals per slice), with 16g of chocolate cream cheese and 5-10g Nutella on top of that.0 -
I can't handle it. I don't even keep it in the house anymore:(2

I spoon out weighed portions of nutella onto waxed paper and freeze.I go into my peanut butter jar with a measuring spoon and log before eating. Otherwise, I could have an empty jar in my hands, too.

We buy the huge Costco size Nutella, but I think the fact that my step-sons eat it every morning and leave sticky, globby messes all over the lid, keeps me from even wanting to touch it.
I do hoard a second tub of it in my baking cupboard and make these guilty pleasures, though:

Bahahaha you are hilarious!0

While its not Nutella I've been staring longingly at the Pillsbury cookie dough in my fridge...1

I win by reminding myself that it is mostly palm oil and so each serving contains the blood of an orangutan. Therefore I don't buy it any more, and we will, when we fancy it, get generic made with no palm oil.4

recipe?? please
1 box (2 sheets) of puff pastry
Generous amount of Nutella
Mini Chocolate Chips
1 egg
1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper; set aside.
2. Lay a sheet of parchment paper on top of a cutting board. Place 1 sheet of puff pastry on top.
3. Gently spread Nutella all over the surface. Scatter the chocolate chips on top.
4. Lay the other sheet on puff pastry top.
5. Use a pizza cutter to cut into 8 even strips. We kept some long and cut the others in half again. Hold the ends of each strip and twist several times. Place on prepared baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg. Bake for 10 minutes the rotate and place back in the oven for 6-8 minutes. Keep a close eye during the last several minutes as baking times differ. Remove from oven when puffed and golden. Serve immediately.
Refrigerate the leftovers (rare) and they're still delicious cold. Also, I don't know if I'm too generous with my Nutella and chocolate chips, but it's always pretty messy after 10 minutes, so I don't bother to rotate. I just bake for an extra 5-10 minutes. Enjoy. =]

I was rinsing out an empty jar for recycling yesterday, and was really surprised at how that stuff DID NOT want to melt. I find that very unappealing. I loved Nutella as a kid, but these days I don't particularly like it. My son makes up for that though.1
